Somebody said they was Josh from O2 offering me benefits for being a loyal customer but said I had to do an account check first. It all sounded quite legit but luckily I got a weird feeling and said no. Then I got a text with a code to enter to keep my account active, but it also said if I didn’t authorise it to contact O2. I called O2 and they had no idea about it. I don’t agree with the comment from 4/1/17, this is proper dodgy and could be dangerous. Total scam, watch out!

I found this out by calling the customer service line 202, which weirdly isn’t O2 but Capita instead. Shows how a little digging can clear things up before jumping to say it’s a scam.

I picked up the phone when they rang me. They were trying to sell me a shiny new Samsung Galaxy S7. They bombarded me with a myriad of questions, and then, rather suspiciously, they requested my bank information. That raised some serious red flags for me; I questioned why they needed my bank details when I was already managing my contract payments. Feeling quite uneasy about the whole thing, I decided to end the conversation abruptly. After that, I received a handful of calls from the same number, which I chose to ignore without hesitation.

This 08009524883 has been ringing me nonstop - I reckon at least 15 times in the last few days. Just as I’m typing this, it buzzed me again! Honestly, I wish they’d just bugger off and stop bothering me already.
