Phone number ☎️ 08009524874 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance number often claiming to represent O2 but frequently deemed unofficial or fraudulent by official O2 sources. Callers are said to possess some personal contract details, causing confusion and concern, yet they typically push unsolicited offers or ask for sensitive information, leading many to suspect scams or aggressive telemarketing tactics. Numerous users report repeated calls with no messages left, occasional silent or confusing voicemails, and abrupt hang-ups when answered. While some believe the callers might be outsourced sales agents working on behalf of O2, official confirmation is lacking and caution is advised. Blocking the number and avoiding providing personal or financial information is strongly recommended to prevent harassment or potential fraud.

For sure, not O2, even though they say they are. I checked it with the Aura chat on my O2 app and they confirmed it.

I got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, didn’t pick up and I didn’t leave a voicemail either. From my point of view, they’re not worth my time and seem to just enjoy messing about with people.

Not sure what it was but the call came to my number which I’m the only one using, so could be a genuine O2 call or just another scammer giving it a go. After checking some other comments about this number, I’m leaning towards it being a scam.

Had a chat with them a few times already, they say they’re from O2 and claim they can see your account info and everything. It sounds pretty legit to me. I haven’t quite made up my mind about their offer on a new tablet yet, but everything seems above board so far.

This number belongs to a company named Convergys (LBM). They operate as a sales team representing o2. They contact you to offer special deals for current customers. If you pay attention to their pitch, they can provide as much as 20% off on extra lines for you, your family or mates. Plus, they might even reduce your existing contract cost by around 20%. They have complete access to your o2 account and are officially approved by o2.

They've been ringing me on and off for the past four days. I haven't picked up any of the calls, and no voicemail has been left. I've ended up blocking the number now.

I usually don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t know, and this one sounded like it was coming from a call centre. Not really bothered about what they had to offer, so I’ve just blocked the number now.

I usually dont pick up calls from numbers I dont reconise but this definitely sounds like a call centre, so I’m not bothered about what they want. Have blocked the number now.

I've been getting loads of calls from them, like multiple times a day, and I never pick up. Today they actually left a voicemail, just some guy breathing, mumbling, and chuckling. Definitely not worth answering, in my opinion.

They've been ringing me once a day for about two weeks now, still no answer from my side.

They rang my husband but he passed the phone to me. First thing I asked was if they worked for o2, and they said they were just some third-party network company. I told them I’d only speak directly to o2, not any outsourced firm. Now we’ll wait and see if they bother my husband again when I’m not about!

Got a call claiming to be from o2, total scam. Never give out your bank info even if they sound legit. Usually, if you pick up, they either just drop the call or try to sell you some supposedly better tariff deal. It's a fake call, watch out!
10 years
The phone is actually registered under my partners name, not mine, and they specifically wanted to speak to her. No one but O2 should have that kind of info, so these people are definitely scammers who must have got their details from O2 somehow.

This number called me three times today but I didn’t pick up, and after seeing these comments, I’m really relieved I didn’t. I’ve gone ahead and blocked it, and I’d recommend everyone else does too. Honestly, this site is amazing - a top way to help protect us from those dodgy people!

Got a call about some 02 discounts but I’m not even with 02, plus the bloke totally messed up how much data I’ve used. The whole thing was odd and didn’t add up. I’d say don’t pick up, seems dodgy to me.

Got a call from a woman with a Yorkshire accent, she asked for me by name. When I asked who she was, she said she was ringing from o2 to check how things were going. Told her I’m doing alright but not really interested in any sales calls. She asked if she should call back later, I asked what about exactly, and she said discounts I might be able to get. I said no cheers and ended the call.

This number has been calling me loads over the last couple of weeks. At first, I just ignored it but then last week I picked up. I didn’t share any info tho, just told them I was at work and couldn’t chat, and they said that was fine and would call back. Sure enough, they rang the next day but I didn’t pick up. I just checked with 02 using their online chat about 30 mins ago and they said this number is NOT linked to any 02 company! So if you get calls from this number, PLEASE DO NOT PICK UP!!!

They called me a couple of times today. After seeing all the reviews, I took a chance and picked up. They asked for my grandad since the phone is registered in his name. When I told them it wasn’t his phone, they said they’d try his number, even though he’s not with 02. Bit odd if you ask me.

This number called me about half a dozen times today. I picked up four of them but they just hung up once I said hello. Two of the calls said they were from O2 and claimed I'd gone over my data limit, which is odd cause I pay for unlimited data. Another call said I'd been in a crash with a Honda Civic, which is weird because I've never even had one of those cars!

Got a call from a woman who had all my phone contract info and was trying to sell me an iPad deal. I said sure, send it over, then she wants my bank card details. I told her just take it from my direct debit like the usual bills. She said they don’t keep that info, so I asked how do they manage monthly payments then? She said she’d ring me back at the same time tomorrow, so I’m thinking I’ll just hang out in an O2 shop until she calls again, see if it’s legit or just a scam.

I received a call from what turned out to be some chap claiming to represent O2, so I figured I'd pick up. He proceeded to inquire about my phone provider, which struck me as rather peculiar since I assumed he already had that detail. When I responded with "O2," I made sure to withhold any personal details. Strangely enough, he seemed to know that both I and my partner were using Galaxy S5s on a contract, along with the duration of our agreements and the specifics of the shop where we had signed up. His purpose was merely to inform me of potential upgrade offers. I politely declined, saying "no thank you." He was quite courteous about it, responding with “no problem at all; for further details, feel free to visit the O2 website. Have a lovely day,” which was rather nice of him. Although he didn’t give off a particularly dodgy vibe, it’s interesting how many folks nowadays are quick to assume something fishy is going on. It’s common knowledge that companies often trade mobile numbers among themselves. I genuinely believe he was calling from an O2-associated firm. Even though his initial question about my provider left me puzzled (as he should’ve already been aware), I didn’t need to divulge any number, yet he was able to share details only O2 would possess.

They kept ringing me loads of times, even when I was busy with work. Picked up once and all I could hear was heavy breathing, then nothing. I ended the call but they wouldn't stop ringing me. Answered again and heard loads of people talking, then some bloke with an English accent just said 'Hello!' and I put the phone down straight away. They’ve been calling constantly and it’s driving me mad. I really need them to stop.

So far, no calls from them, but I've switched my bank account and updated all my online passwords just in case. Might even think about moving and changing my name as well.
10 years
Nearly all these calls are from cold callers wanting to sell something or scam you. According to data privacy laws, they’re supposed to verify your info first before asking for passwords, not the other way around. If they get any details wrong, just end the call straight away. And if you didn’t request the call, it’s best not to pick up at all and block the number to be safe.

They just rang me up, said they were from O2 and asked to speak to Dawn. I told them if they were really from O2, they’d know she’s not on the contract anymore. I’ve been the account holder for over three months now. They just said sorry and then hung up. Doesn’t sound legit to me.

I've been getting these calls for like a month or two now. Today I got a voicemail that said "I know what you're doing." It was pretty strange, so I kept it. As far as I know, O2 has never left me a voicemail before, they usually just send a text saying I missed their call.

They keep calling me non stop so I usually just ignore it, but yesterday I finally picked up. It was a bloke with an Asian accent who spoke so quick I couldnt make out a word. Someone said they were from o2 but there’s no way that’s true. I wouldn’t blame o2 for this at all, even though some people say they’ll switch providers if it happens again. Honestly, it’ll happen no matter who you’re with since phone contracts are easy to find out, and companies can check who supplies your phone, internet, or even your energy. Just block the number and be done with it.
10 years
This defo ain’t O2 themselves. It’s just some marketing lot tryin to blag your info and push dodgy ‘offers’ on you. Don’t waste your time picking up. They just wanna nick your details to hassle you down the line. If you need O2, ring them straight, not this lot.

They called me two times today, first call dropped as soon as I picked up. On the second call, the man claimed to be from O2 and began asking if I owned an iPad. When I asked why, he dodged the question. I said I was tied up and that my partner would handle it, then he just hung up. If this really is O2, it’s really poor practice and feels like harassment. Keep this up and I’ll be moving my number elsewhere.

Still getting calls from various 0800 02 numbers, this one included, really annoying.

I received three calls from this number on the same day, but I ignored them initially. When I finally answered, I said, "Hello, Amy here," since I use this line for work purposes, and they promptly hung up! After checking some Twitter comments about O2, it seems some reckon it might be a legitimate number, but I'm left wondering why they'd hang up so quickly. - Caller: could be O2, but I'm rather sceptical! 0800 952 4874

They rang me twice within like 10 minutes today and have been calling me every day since early February. I just ignore the calls completely.

Based on the nature of the dialogues and the feedback shared here, it seems to me that this might be an external service rather than O2’s direct team. O2, like many firms, often collaborates with various smaller enterprises to manage their services and customer interactions, so they’re not solely reliant on their in-house staff. Just to add a personal touch, I've had a stint with a few of those third-party firms myself. Caller: Didn't answer.

They've rang me about 4 times over the past couple of days, but I was always in school so I never got a chance to pick up.

Got a weird voicemail from this number, sounds like someone was practising a script and rang me by mistake! He kept saying stuff like 'offer SIM only deals but don’t bring up cancellation unless they ask, then just say yeah no problem and move on, only if they ask though'. I’d steer clear of answering if I were you!!

I got a call from 08009524874 one time while I was at school but I didnt pick up. Then, just like 20 mins ago, they called again. I refused it and they left a creepy laugh as a voicemail. Watch out for this number!

They called me twice one after the other. Picked up the first time but no one said anything so I just ended the call. Didn’t bother answering the second ring. I’ll keep doing that. If it’s important they can just leave a voicemail.

Got a call claiming to be from O2 about some offers. The lady on the line was quite rude and kept messing up what she was saying. She also tried to pry for personal details. Better to just block or not answer this number.

I picked up and some bloke said he was from O2, not too sure if I should trust that or not.

Blimey, I was completely oblivious to what phone I possessed! They claimed I owned a Samsung, but the only device I've ever got from 02 is an iPhone! That was the final straw for me - I hung up right away! What a bunch of charlatans! - Caller: 0800 952 4874

I usually just pick up and stay silent, they generally hang up pretty quick after that.

They claim to be from O2, but I have my doubts about their authenticity. They're attempting to peddle products I have absolutely no interest in. What's more, they've shown knowledge about my O2 account, even though I haven't shared any personal information with them. Quite concerning, really!

I just had a word with O2, and they confirmed that this number has no connection to them whatsoever. I strongly advise against sharing any personal details with them! - the caller seems to be a scammer.

We were just chatting away with our sister when another call came through. We didn’t pick up, but they left us a voicemail that was quite strange-there wasn’t much said, just a long pause of silence on the recording. So, of course, I tried calling back only to hear a recorded message saying it was from LBM on behalf of Orange. What on earth is that all about? Do let us know if you’ve had a similar experience!

Received a call from someone claiming to be affiliated with O2, touting some discounts on pay-as-you-go SIM cards. They asked for my name and confirmed the type of phone I use. I mentioned I’d take some time to ponder over the offers, and they assured me that was perfectly alright, promising a follow-up call the next day. However, I'm rather sceptical about whether I’ll pick up if they ring again! - caller: 0800 952 4874

I got a call from this number, and they had the wrong name. They said they were from O2, trying to pitch mobile phone deals for new handsets and tablets. When I inquired about checking the offers in-store, they flat out said I couldn’t. After looking at the comments below, it turns out it wasn't from O2 at all. Just a heads-up - steer clear of making any purchases over the phone or sharing personal information with strangers. Have a jolly festive season! - caller: 08009524874

This number has buzzed my phone three times today, which is quite infuriating. I've chosen not to answer any of the calls. Could it be a local number or just a typical scammer?

Blimey, these chaps are ringing me daily now! It's utterly infuriating! I’ve made it a rule never to pick up calls from numbers I don’t know. Seems like a proper tactic, if you ask me! I reckon it's O2 that's behind it all, but I've got no intention of picking up.

This situation has really reached a tipping point. It’s far from amusing at this stage. I've had this number pestering me consistently, leaving voicemails laden with foul language and downright offensive terms like "c***". It’s unacceptable and action needs to be taken!
