Some bloke laughing and claiming it was to do with my 'bt internet line', but when I said I wasn't sure if it was legit, he just hung up on me without saying a word.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from BT, saying my internet was unsecured. I said I’d deal with it another time, feeling a bit iffy about it. She then tried to persuade me to sit at my computer so they could fix it remotely. I wasn’t born yesterday, though, so I just ended the call.

I picked up the phone and could hear a bunch of noise, kinda like a call centre going on in the background. Then, suddenly, they just hung up without saying a word. Weird.

So, got a weird one - BT Openreach apparently told someone else they’re using my internet line, which is odd cause I switched providers last night haha. The strange bit is, they sent a PIN to my phone, and I never gave them that number. Feels like BT are leaking our details to these con artists! This happened here in Newquay, Cornwall.

Answered the phone but hung up straight away, then they phoned me again - turned out to be some dodgy internet scam.

Just picked up a call from that number. It was a woman speaking very quietly, sounded like a call centre. She said something about BT Openreach and my internet connection. I said I don’t actually have internet at home and they just ended the call. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number using call protect now.

That call really caught me off guard, I’ve never been so messed around by a phone number before! Honestly, it was a complete nightmare dealing with it.

So last night I switched my internet provider, but then I get this message from BT Openreach saying someone else is connected to my line! It's a bit worrying because they apparently sent a PIN code to my phone number - which I never even gave them. Feels like BT might be sharing our details with dodgy scammers or something. Got a call supposedly from BT Openreach about my internet connection. I said I wasn’t even online and the person just ended the call. I’ve blocked that number now.

Beware, this is one of those call centre cons. They try to trick you into letting them access your computer remotely. After that, they push you to fork out over £199 for some bogus antivirus software. Don’t fall for it!

I got a call from an 0800 number that seemed a bit sketchy and because of that I decided to just block it straight away.

I picked up and a bloke kept saying, “Hello? Hello, can you hear me? I can hear you, can you hear my voice?” He kept repeating that and then suddenly the call just dropped.

someone rang me saying they were from bt and that my internet was at risk. i asked them to prove who they were and to give me the last 4 digits of my account, but they couldn’t. weirdly, i also got a text from what looked like the normal bt number on my phone. after looking into it, i found out it’s a scam and that bt’s sms number is being faked.

Got a call from 0800917051 - some woman saying her name was Carol, claiming there was weird activity with my IP address. I kept her on the line when she wanted me to open my computer, but asked for my name since I'm the account owner. She just kept repeating herself and when I pressed again, she dropped the call. The accent was really strong, not what you'd expect from someone named Carol! Definitely a scam right away. If they ring again, I’ll mess with them a bit. Honestly, I don’t understand how people like that can live with themselves, total waste of space.
