Don't ever just brush off a cold call or message saying it's from your bank. Listen to what they're after but don't give out any info or do anything. Then ring your bank straight away using the number on your card, but make sure your line is free first. It might be an important issue with your account or it could be a scammer pretending to be your bank. Sometimes, scam calls even use real numbers from places like Barclaycard, so it's hard to know for sure. The world’s a risky place these days - be careful!

This number is totally annoying, loads of people saying it’s a scam pretending to be Barclaycard. I checked with Barclays themselves and this number has no connection to them. The real Barclayscard contact is 0800 161 5213, and they normally send you a text before calling later on.

I keep getting calls from this number but I never pick up. I looked it up online and loads of people say it’s a dodgy Barclays card missed payment scam. Thing is, I do have a Barclays card and I’m a bit behind on payments, so it sounds like it could be genuine. But a lot of reviews here mention they've checked with Barclays who deny it’s their number, or they don’t have a Barclays account at all, which is a bit concerning. Either way, I’m not going to answer. I’ll sort my payments when I’m able to.

I've been getting phone calls on my home line from 08008830261, including one just this morning. They often leave a recorded message mentioning someone I've never even heard of, asking me to contact Barclaycard regarding some overdue payment. I swore I had this number blocked, yet it seems to have resurfaced this week. The funny thing is, I haven't touched my Barclaycard in more than five years!

It kept ringing but when I picked up, no sound at all. Had a look on this site and found out it’s some scam pretending to be a bank, so I’ve blocked the number now. Cheers to everyone who uses this site to spot dodgy calls.

They say they are from Barclays, but after checking with Barclays directly, they told me this number isn’t one of theirs. It’s just spam and really annoying.

Got a ring from this number earlier, some muppet claiming to be from Barclaycard. I can’t believe the folks who run and charge for 0800 numbers don’t crack down on this rubbish. They really ought to step up. But then again, like most, they probably don’t give a toss where they nick their cash from.

I use Barclaycard myself but this number kept ringing my work phone non stop. I rang up Barclaycard and they confirmed it was legit. Turns out a mate I used to work with gave them our office number by mistake and they were trying to reach him about overdue payments. I told them to take our number off their list.

Fed up with getting nonstop calls from this number. I got 6 calls in a single day. No idea who they are and I never asked for their calls. If I knew which company was behind this, I'd have no qualms about sharing the names and home addresses of the people in charge.

I received a call purporting to be from Barclays, and they had the audacity to ask for my mum's maiden name, using only the first and last letters. Blimey, who do they think they are? I played along for a bit but made sure not to divulge any personal details. They even mentioned sharing the last four digits of my card - but let's be real, that isn't exactly foolproof, is it? So, I kindly instructed them to take a hike!

This number has been hounding me with around three to four calls each day without fail. I’ve set up a call screening feature, so anyone ringing in has to identify themselves before I’ll entertain their call. However, since it’s clearly an automated system, it can’t comply, which leads to it getting cut off every time. It’s incredibly frustrating! I've finally decided to block the number altogether.

I've been inundated with calls from this number, both on my home phone and my mobile, within just a quarter of an hour! It seems I'm in for a relentless barrage, possibly every day for the next few weeks. They've already rung me on the 13th, Saturday; then again on the 14th, Sunday; and followed up on the 15th, Monday. This has been happening since January 2019!

BEWARE! 1: Ive been getting loads of calls from this number, all automated messages claiming to be from "Barclays" asking for someone else, not me. Recently switched to a Pay & Go plan, and when I heard a voicemail, I accidentally dialled my answerphone because the caller ID wasn't showing, and I got hit with a 3p charge just to hear a useless message! BEWARE! 2: Today I even received a call that appeared to be from my own number - proper creepy! Didn’t pick up since it was clearly dodgy - scammers are now faking caller IDs… BEST NOT TO ANSWER!!

For around two months now, this number keeps calling me like three times every day. It’s some voicemail supposedly from Barclays trying to reach someone who doesn’t even live here. They want you to press some keys to confirm if you’re the person, then ask for your date of birth, or press another button if you’re not. But it doesn’t matter what you do, the calls just keep coming non-stop.

I got loads of messages left on my phone by someone talking with a American accent. They kept asking for someone, but I couldn’t catch the name properly. They talked about something to do with the Barclay card website, so I decided to call Barclay card myself. They told me it had nothing to do with them and just said to ignore the calls. I don’t even have a Barclay card or any kind of account with Barclays!

My phone was buzzing non-stop, like 15 times within just a couple of hours! I've never owned a Barclaycard, yet they kept calling for my son and didn't even bother to say his name correctly. I've had enough and stopped picking up the landline altogether. Just got back from work and found a message from some angry bloke telling me to "pick up"... as if I’m going to fall for that. These scammers are driving me up the wall right now.

These calls just never stop, its so annoying! I’m really curious, what actions are the ICO taking with all this, and isn’t the telephone preference service meant to help? Also, should Barclays be doing more to stop this nonsense?
