I can verify with some insider info that if this number has contacted you, it’s possible your bank details have been jeopardised by the Tax Recovery Bureau or Allclaim Solutions. You've certainly fallen victim to a scam, and it’s quite serious!

The chap leading the team that had the list of vulnerable individuals to target for scams goes by the name of Guy Stevens, hailing from Newhaven, Brighton. I recall distinctly him hurling some rather unpleasant names at a poor soul over the phone while I was employed there. It makes one wonder how both he and Ash David have managed to carry on their deceitful operations for such a considerable stretch of time!

This outfit isn’t really Eon; they’re merely attempting to throw action fraud off their trail for their dodgy enterprise known as the Tax Recovery Bureau. Originally hailing from Brighton, they specifically prey on the vulnerable, including the elderly and disabled, all to snag their banking details. (By the way, your manager Sean has been singing like a canary!)

This is totally not EOn, it’s just a scam. Don’t bother answering these calls or texts. If you really do owe EOn, get in touch with them using the number printed on your actual bill. The scammers always say they’re EOn to trick you, but it’s all fake.

I can say with certainty that it’s EON. When the incessant calls and texts began pestering me for money, I reached out to them directly. They informed me that it was due to my account being a standard one without any special arrangements-essentially, I had to pay up immediately. Dealing with them has always been a right pain, to be honest. It’s not like I chose to be with them. They've become increasingly ruthless. Terms like customer service and empathy seem to be completely foreign to them. It’s just a straightforward demand for cash, right away.

Yep, it’s definitely Eon, ringing about the account. I asked someone at the call centre to be sure.

Today, I got a rather dubious message claiming to be from Eon, stating I still have an outstanding bill for energy consumption. They provided a website link and an 0800 number: 0800 883 0086. The only trouble is, I’m not even an Eon customer! I can’t help but think this must be some elaborate SCAM. It’s disheartening, to say the least, and really makes one question the integrity of people these days.

I’m not entirely sure what to make of that, but it looks like there's some sort of jumbled message here! Could you clarify what you meant? It would really help to understand better. Cheers!

I have a strong suspicion that this is a scam call, and it’s baffling how they manage to obtain our numbers. It makes me wonder if they somehow access your device during extended phone conversations. I mean, the call I received was supposed to be sorted out, but it left me feeling uneasy. Alternatively, it’s possible that there’s a rogue employee involved in this whole mess. It’s quite concerning, to say the least.

Automated message: If you happen to be the occupier, kindly press 1. If you aren’t the occupier, please hit 2. What on earth is an occupier? Occupy what, exactly? Honestly, whether you select 1 or 2, I reckon they could have posed some more challenging questions. And isn’t it just typical? They don’t bother to reveal their location or who’s making the call!

I've found myself in a similar predicament. I was rather trusting, went ahead and made a payment, only to have that dreadful "oh crumbs" moment when the realisation struck that it might be a con. So I promptly blocked my card. When I reached out to customer support, they couldn't identify the number at all but insisted it must be genuine since the outstanding balance had been settled.

Curiously enough, my call aligned perfectly with a text from Eon Customer Services that flagged the whole thing as a scam.

It seems quite possible that someone has been sharing confidential information, and this crafty scam involves settling a bill you were already due to pay, making it seem legitimate. This clever ruse would essentially confirm to the fraudster that your card is active and ready for use, catching you off guard.

Just got a call from this number, hung up, called 1471 to find the number, then rang E on. I’d recently settled a bill and wanted to confirm the payment had cleared. They told me there wasn’t any money owed and said “don’t stress about the call”. I told the person on the phone the number that had called me but she didn’t really care that I’d been contacted by a different company about their bill.

Got a message saying they were ‘acting on behalf of EON’ about some supposed debt. They never gave any info about the actual energy bills or usage. The text felt quite pushy and a bit intimidating. The website they sent me to, m.eonpay[###], doesn’t look official at all. Turns out it’s registered to some bloke called David Roger Pugh from Hale or Altrincham. Definitely seems dodgy to me.

Building on what's already been said, I’m worried someone’s got hold of our info (maybe from an Eon breach or something), sorts your bill so you reckon everything’s alright (and to check the card’s legit), then hangs back a bit before doing some dodgy stuff. Heard about scams like this before, so best to call the proper number on their official site. Despite what some folks say here, Eon customer service made it clear they don’t deal with any third party, which makes me think those green or safe claims mentioned earlier are a bit suspect.

I stupidly paid my bill through this number, then called Eon directly who confirmed the amount was right and had been settled. But when I asked Eon’s support about the number, they said they had no record of it, though they said it was ‘probably’ genuine since the bill’s been sorted - which honestly doesn’t make me feel any better. Then, the very next day, my partner got a text from ‘Eon’ asking for payment again, and Eon support confirmed that number was definitely a scam. Too fishy for me, so I’ve blocked my card now. Best to avoid.

Really wish I didnt check this site first. This number called me (turns out it's Eon Energy) about my account. The call was legit, but it took some effort and time to get them to prove it was real. So, not a scam, it's an honest call.

Got 4 voicemails from Eon over the last 6 days. I don’t even have an account with them and thought it was fishy they’re calling from an 0800 number. Feels like a phone scam to me.

Had a similar experience. Got a missed call on my landline from “Eon” on 19 January 2018, then they left a free callback number. Later that evening, at about 7:56pm, they sent a text with a link: [#] m.eonpay[###]/9as2 and repeated the phone number. We just ignored it for two reasons: first, the link was HTTP not HTTPS, which seemed fishy. Second, the website basically wanted us to enter bank details to clear a supposed debt. No chance! This felt like harassment - calling twice in a day, and it’s clearly a scam trying to phish for bank info. Very dodgy.

Had the same experience. Got a call from "Eon" on my landline on 19th January 2018 with a freephone number. It felt like pure harassment. Later that evening, they sent a text at 19:56 with a link [#] m.eonpay[###]/9as2 and repeated the phone number. We just ignored it for two reasons: the website starts with http not https, and it’s asking for bank details to clear some supposed "debt." Absolutely no chance we’d give that info! It's really annoying getting phoned twice in one day and could be pretty risky too.

Got one of those robo calls saying I owe money to "Eon." A lot of folks reckon it must be legit because of unpaid bills. Thing is, I've never dealt with Eon before and I use a prepay meter for my utilities, so yeah, this smells like a total scam, big time. Stay alert everyone!

I got a call from this number and it was some kind of robot saying ‘I have an important message for (my full name)’. Then it asked me to enter my postcode, and I waited - sometimes if the bot can’t understand you, a real person takes over - but this time nothing happened. It just told me to ring them back on another number (which I forgot to note down) to begin the process again. That’s when I pasted the number into Google and ended up writing this. If a firm really wants money you owe, surely a real person would call you, not some automated message.

Spam alert! I'm gettin loads of texts and voicemail messages claiming I owe money to EON. I honestly don't owe them a penny. I've never even been a customer of theirs, and every energy company I've dealt with has actually owed me cash when I switched, cause paying by direct debit usually means you overpay a bit. Stay clear of this!

What a con! This isn't Eon! They had the audacity to know my account details and claimed we had an outstanding balance of £276, even suggesting a card payment. They even offered a hold option so you could fetch your card! How cheeky! I got an uneasy feeling and decided to cut the call short. Thank goodness I did, as I ran it by my husband and we're definitely all squared away. It's quite alarming that they knew our phone number and account name; if I hadn't trusted my gut, their insider knowledge could have easily swayed me. Very disappointing indeed!

I received a voicemail on my seldom-used mobile, which I mainly reserve for chatting with close mates and family. The caller knew my full name and claimed to be from Eon Energy, stating there was some sort of issue with my account - which is utterly false. They urged me to ring the number mentioned, but it raised my suspicions. Instead of calling, I did a quick search online and discovered it’s a rather notorious scam. I reached out to Eon directly, informing them about the situation, and they've assured me they're looking into it further.

Yep, it’s E.ON calling. They use some outside company to ring or email you if you owe money or just paid a bill. If you’re getting these calls, it’s most likely because your account is behind or has recently been settled. That's how the system knows all your info.

Got two calls from this number in just a week, first time said they were from EE, second time from EON. Both times it was some kind of recorded message.

Absolutely a dodgy scheme! I decided to ring up Eon to grill them about how these con artists managed to get hold of my account name, number, and phone details. I ended up waiting on the line for what felt like an eternity, which was really racking up my phone bill. In the end, they just shrugged and claimed they had no clue about how my information had leaked. Makes you wonder if it's an insider job, or is Eon peddling our personal data? It's quite alarming, to say the least!

My mum got this recorded message left on her voicemail, claiming to be from Seven & Trent Water. They were asking for a payment of more than £100 straight away and gave a phone number to ring back to sort it out. Mum double-checked with the actual water company since she did have a question with them recently, but they said it wasn’t from them at all! Definitely a scam, and it makes me think someone’s selling personal info. Maybe they’re trying to move on from Eon, cos everyone’s getting wary now.

Keep getting annoying texts with a link that wants your card info straight away. Eon normally calls from numbers starting with 0345 or 0333. Weird thing is, I can’t put the number on my spam list, but that might be a separate problem.

I got a call and a message from someone saying they were from eon, but I've never had anything to do with them. They called my work phone, which I don't ever use for bills or anything. Definitely a scam. They kept ringing me loads of times.

TOTALLY a scam, and they’re clever enough to put up fake nice reviews here. I reckon someone’s selling personal info, coz how else would they know we’re Eon customers and when bills gotta be paid?? It’s not just random calls for sure!!!

I noticed a missed call followed by a text message from this number, claiming that I had an outstanding debt. They urged me to either ring them back or visit their website. I chose not to engage and simply blocked their number instead.

Eon ought to verify on their official site whether this number truly belongs to them. Until then, it’s wise to err on the side of caution and treat it as a potential scam.

Sounds like a SCAM, these folks claim they got nothing to do with it at all.

I already blocked this number but I'm still getting texts from them saying stuff like "You owe us for your energy usage. Please check [#]gsys.io/6acjd or call 0800 883 0086 ASAP." I don't owe them a penny. It's just a really irritating scam, be careful and steer clear everyone.

I've had a similar experience myself. This number has been trying to get hold of me multiple times throughout the day, and to top it off, I received a dodgy text from EON claiming I needed to reach out to them urgently. Clearly a scam! I've gone ahead and marked both numbers as spam immediately.

Both my husband's and my names were mentioned, and then they instructed us to hit 1 when calling from that number. We chose not to follow their prompts and have since looked into the number-turns out it’s been flagged as a scam!

I got a robotic message from E.ON sayin I owed money for my energy usage. The text said "please visit [#]gsys.io/68wdy" or ring the number listed above. They even left a voicemail on my landline urging me to get in touch with E.ON urgently about my unpaid account.

Total scam, do not trust it. An automated voice tries to get your card details and pin, saying you owe money on a bill.

I got a ring from this number on the evening of the 5th of October. I was about to call them back as they requested, but decided to consult unknownphone first. I’m relieved I did because it’s clearly a scam! They were asking for my bank details - seriously, who do they think they’re fooling? I almost fell for it since it was an 0800 number, which made it seem legitimate at first glance. Quite the cheek!

What a dodgy trick! I got a call from a robotic voice claiming I had an outstanding balance of £50 on my account. I immediately thought that can’t be right, especially since I just got my bill yesterday, and it was for more than that! When I rang them up for clarity, they had no record of my call whatsoever. Pretty shifty behaviour if you ask me!

I received a voicemail from this number urging me to urgently get in touch with E-ON. Naturally, I rang their official 0345 line to verify the call, and to my surprise, they informed me it was a scam! Quite alarming, really.

This has got to be a TOTAL SCAM - anyone saying otherwise is clearly nuts! I’ve been getting these for like 3 weeks now, both texts and voicemails - all from some automated woman’s voice. So I checked my account and, just like I suspected, I don’t owe EON a penny. The message even includes an email that’s not linked to any EON domain. Honestly, steer well clear of this, it’s dodgy, dodgy, dodgy!

Got a call from Eon automation telling me I owed a bill, which I already settled! Then about an hour later I get a text saying I still need to pay!! Seems dodgy to me, dont bother paying or calling back if u get one of those automated messages.

How utterly peculiar! I’ve found that my account received a refund of the payment I made. I got in touch with Eon, and they seemed baffled, claiming they have no knowledge of any system reaching out like that. They suggested it might be some sort of pilot scheme from their collections team, although they weren’t entirely certain. It’s all rather confusing, honestly! They’re just as in the dark as I am. I reckon it’s time for me to take action. I've gone ahead and cancelled my bank card to be on the safe side. The moral of the story? Better safe than sorry-give Eon a ring on the 0345 number found on your bill to sort out your account. Who knows if this is the real deal or an exceptionally crafty bit of thievery that resembles something out of Robin Hood!

I've been inundated with calls and texts from this number every day, and I'm talking late at night too, around 7 to 9 PM. Eon surely wouldn't be reaching out during those hours, would they? If you check the address in the messages, you'll see it's clearly a scam. Best to steer clear of this lot; they’re just after your money. It’s high time we put an end to this nuisance!

I recently got a call from this number, and they left a message claiming to be from Eon, urging me to return their call without delay. A few hours later, I received a text from them, insisting that I needed to contact them regarding an outstanding energy bill. However, I had settled my account just last week! They even provided an email address for me to reach out, but I did a bit of digging and discovered that it didn’t look legitimate at all.

Got a call at work earlier but missed it. They left a voicemail saying I needed to call Eon straight away. Later on, I got a text from “Eon” saying I owe money on my last bill, which isn’t true at all - they actually owe me some cash. Pretty sure it’s a scam, so I’ve blocked the number. This one’s quite clever compared to others going around lately. Stay cautious, everyone!

This morning, I received a rather suspicious text demanding a payment of just over £200, complete with a link to a dodgy site where I was instructed to input my postcode. It also provided a contact number. The whole thing screamed scam to me - no account reference from EON, and the language used was almost impolite! Plus, I had to do nothing more than enter my postcode. It’s worth noting that I've never had any form of communication from EON via text before, especially considering I’ve only just settled my latest bill and the next payment isn’t even on the horizon! I’ll admit, I occasionally get reminders about unpaid bills, but they’ve never pressured me for payment through texts or emails. If you fall for this ruse and send money via that number or link after reading this, you’ll only have yourself to blame for getting taken for a ride!

It's been a few weeks since I flagged this issue regarding EON, yet here I am still receiving calls and texts! They really seem to be doing nothing about it. One would think they would notify their customers about such matters. These scam calls continue even as EON's official lines shut down. It’s quite concerning that these fraudsters seem to have access to our personal information, even referencing how much we owe!

Absolutely a con, no two ways about it. Eon has acknowledged the situation and assured me they're looking into it. Thankfully, I only lost £14, but it could have easily been much worse. Don't fall for those claiming it's legitimate - they might just be part of the ruse! Eon ought to issue refunds, as this reeks of a security lapse that has led to this theft.

Had a rather unsettling experience with an automated call purporting to be from Eon. They began by asking if I was indeed myself, to which I replied in the affirmative. Next, they requested my postcode, which immediately set off alarm bells, so I promptly ended the call. As a fresh customer with Eon, I find it quite disconcerting that someone has managed to obtain my details within a mere three weeks! I'll certainly be lodging a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office, as it seems they're not taking data protection seriously enough.

I received a message indicating that my initial direct debit payment to Eon was still outstanding. Curious, I clicked on the provided link and was prompted to enter my postcode, which I did. It then displayed a notice claiming I owed £81.21-just the amount I was aware of. Consequently, I proceeded to settle the bill using my debit card. The following day, I contacted Eon to inquire why my direct debit had not been processed and sought clarity regarding the text I had received. They informed me it was likely a scam, a notion my bank echoed as well. This begs the question: how on earth did these fraudsters obtain my phone number and know the precise amount I owed Eon? It’s rather suspicious, isn’t it? Definitely seems like this could be an inside job!

What a dodgy operation! I unwittingly rang the number without doing my homework first and ended up here, much to my dismay.

What raised my eyebrows was when I entered my 12-digit e-on account number and it came up as unrecognised. Thank goodness I refrained from sharing any further personal details and confirmed with e-on that mere possession of that number is utterly useless to anyone else! :)

I had a rather unpleasant experience with a scam involving Eon just today. After looking through this site, I've noticed that others had similar issues just a few days ago. I believe it's about time BT stepped up to rectify this or at the very least take accountability for what's occurred.
