Got a call yesterday from someone claiming to be Santander's fraud team. They were quite smart, knowing the first seven digits of my card and asking for the code on the back and all. I told them I was driving and would ring back later. They kept pushing, saying it was urgent. I hung up and called Santander straight away, who said they hadn’t called me and cancelled my card. Just got another call from them at 8.15pm tonight, so I hung up again.

Some bloke called Sebastian claiming he was from Santander’s fraud department. He said someone was trying to take a £4,000 loan from my online banking, but I don’t even have online banking. Watch out, they sound proper convincing. He even tried calling back later at 8.40 in the evening.

Someone pretending to be from Santander security called me, probably linked to the folks who tried to make a dodgy payment with my card but failed the second security check, so Santander stopped it. I’d already spent a good 75 minutes on the phone with Santander’s security crew that day, so when a call came in with no number showing, I knew it was dodgy. Then they rang back from this number saying they were Santander security customer service. Just hang up and block the number straight away. Someone called claiming to be from Santander fraud dept. If you search them on google, their site comes up first as an advert, which made it seem legit. Turns out it’s a total scam. Someone rang my other half claiming to be from Santander’s fraud department. Sounded really legit. They got her to open her banking app and confirm her account balance and overdraft limit. She’d also got an email the day before about possible dodgy activity on her PayPal, with a link she clicked on and put her bank details into to supposedly block the fake payment. Definitely a scam! I recently received a message from DPD claiming I owed an unpaid shipping fee. As someone who has occasionally purchased items from China that never arrived, I thought, "Well, it's just £2.99." However, alarm bells started ringing when they asked for my bank details. Incredibly, only an hour later, I received a call from NatWest Fraud Department informing me of suspicious activity on my card. Apparently, someone had tried to withdraw a whopping £9,500 from my account. Then they went on to inquire about my other accounts, to which I mentioned Santander. Shockingly, they revealed that there had been similar fraudulent attempts involving my Santander account and advised me to move my funds to a secure place - a newly set up account with ATS Bank. It was an absolute nightmare! Fortunately, Santander intercepted the situation and saved me from further harm. I cannot stress this enough - please, please be careful and stay vigilant against scammers!

They said that in order to proceed, they needed to provide me with an OTP (One Time Password) number. However, I was in the middle of my meal, so I requested them to call back in thirty minutes. Surprisingly, they didn't call back until almost two hours later. Moreover, when they did call, their voice didn't sound like the person I originally spoke with. Once again, they mentioned the amount leaving my account and asked me for the OTP number. Knowing that each payment setup has a unique OTP number for security purposes, I informed them that I didn't possess one. This caused the caller to become hesitant and try to persuade me otherwise. Despite their attempts, I sensed that something was fishy and accused them of being a scammer before promptly hanging up the phone.

Received a call from someone pretending to be Santander Bank, but the number they showed wasn’t real. I told them off in the rudest way I could, shouting at them loud and clear. I don’t even have an account with Santander!

I recieved a phone call today regarding a transaction that was blocked on our bank account! The caller claimed to be from Santander. I found it suspicious because they knew the last four digits of our account. I wondered if this person could be a fraudster, especially when I mentioned that my husband's identity had been stolen and dealt with last month, she abruptly ended the call. It was quite bizarre as she even asked where I got married. Something just didn't feel right about that call, it didn't seem like a genuine call from Santander.
