Received a call claiming to be from Santander bank, but I’m sceptical - seems like a dodgy scheme to me.

this number rang us today and initially we thought it was a scam since they said they were calling from santander's fraud team, so we just hung up straight away. but after checking through other methods, it turned out the call really was from santander's fraud department. my advice is if you’re ever unsure about a call, don’t pick up or just hang up, then verify by calling a trusted number like the one on the back of your debit card. better to be cautious than risk it!

Received a call purporting to be from the fraud department of Santander. They were asking for a portion of my date of birth! I decided to hang up before revealing any details. Better safe than sorry, I reckon!

dont trust any messages saying its not a scam, theyre part of it too. this isnt santander calling. ive had 4 automated calls on my home phone, none on my mobile or via text. I rang santander directly on their legit number (not the one the automated call gave) and they told me straight away its a fraud, just ignore it.

I had a similar experience today, too! Got a text from Santander mentioning that I should expect another message shortly, which I did indeed receive. It was a request to confirm a transaction that I definitely didn’t initiate. The number that contacted me is the one listed above. Quite suspicious, I must say!

I’ve just added this number to my blocked list following a call I received at 08:05 this morning! They purported to be from Santander regarding some fraudulent activity, but I seriously doubt that’s the case! Since that call, they've attempted to ring me back three times, all in vain. Got a text from someone saying it was from santanterfraud, asking me to put in a 3 digit code. I just deleted it and then got a couple of automated calls saying the same thing. I can’t seem to escape the incessant calls from this particular number! It's driving me round the bend.

got a text last friday saying it was from santander, then another with a number to call. i didn’t ring them, but they phoned me instead. when i answered there was an automated voice then a lady came on. she asked about some recent transactions to check if i recognised them. two i hadn’t, so she said she’d cancel my card and a new one arrived this morning. at no point did she ask for my full card details, just my name and address which is pretty standard and easy info to get hold of these days. seems legit, i don’t reckon scammers would bother sending a new card.

Received a rather alarming text at 3 in the morning claiming to be from Santander, stating that my card had been used at 2:58 am. It prompted me to respond with 'Y' or 'N' to confirm or dispute the transaction, or to ring the number (0800 06406117) provided. However, the call seemingly originated from +44 7860 015189. I hastily replied with 'N' before doing my research but I plan to scrutinise my account activity in the morning. Considering the absence of my account number in the message, it likely seems like a scam. I think I’ll have to block that number to prevent any further issues.
