Got a call from a freephone number today that felt dodgy. Didn’t pick up because I’m pretty wary of unknown numbers these days. Figured if it was something important, they’d either try again or leave a message. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Seems like this is going around alot. Got a call from a very polite lady saying she was sending me a gardening club voucher. I said no thanks nicely, but she kept pushing, so I just told her to buzz off and take me off their list.

This firm rang me two times yesterday, and daft me answered the second call. What a nightmare! The woman on the line, who sounded American, just wouldn’t give up. The only way I managed to hang up was by agreeing to their offer of three free potted plants and some info about their Gardening club magazine. Obviously, I didn’t share any of my personal info, though they already had my name, address and postcode. I’ve blocked their number now to avoid any more bother.

I received a rather intriguing call from someone purporting to be from The Gardening Club, trying to entice me with a £10 voucher and three free plants. They mentioned sending a catalogue that could be cancelled within a month, after which a sum of £21.99 would be charged. Upon inquiry about how they had my details, they claimed it was linked to a previous purchase from Easilife. I pressed them regarding the nature of their access to what should be encrypted information, and their response was to simply suggest I could cancel if I chose. Despite my persistence in seeking clarity, I was met with no satisfactory explanation regarding their claims. I emphatically told them I wasn’t interested in receiving anything from them! I must say, the rep "Mary" was extremely courteous, even when I was quite relentless in questioning their offer. However, I urge everyone to steer clear of this potentially deceptive scheme!

Honestly, the best feature on my phone has got to be the one that silences calls from unknown numbers. It’s a lifesaver, seriously. They can keep ringing all day and it doesn’t irritate me one bit. When I’m free, I just have a quick look here to see who was calling. Without fail, it’s always those same annoying types who seriously need to find a proper job and stop bothering anyone. I always mark them as Harassing.

Received a phone call from a chap with a distinct African accent. It was quite the struggle to make sense of what he was saying. My instincts were telling me to terminate the call immediately, but I stayed on and eventually told him I wasn’t keen. I found news stories about a firm called Easylife, which I bought gardening tools from ages ago. That company got fined £1.48 million for misusing personal info and taking money from bank accounts without permission. Pretty sure they're up to dodgy stuff again!!!

Got a call from this number today (18/05/2023). They claimed they were giving away 3 free pots of plants. I kept refusing and eventually they just hung up on me. Nothing's ever free, so I wanted to end the call as quickly as possible. Unless it was MI5 or GCHQ using some weird gardening code to recruit me?? My husband was a retired police officer, worked in serious fraud, so we were really careful with our info. How on earth do they get it?
