They were requesting all sorts of details about my credit card, including the expiry date and security code, which immediately sent up alarm bells. I rang Scotiabank myself, and they assured me that there were no transactions on my card or any calls made to me during that period. It seems these crooks might be using some kind of number spoofing technology to impersonate Scotiabank’s official number. I've flagged this incident with Scotiabank, and I strongly encourage others to do the same.
