Got a call today from someone saying they were Santander. I searched the number on Google, seemed legit, they spoke nicely and said they wanted to keep me safe. Then suddenly they claimed my account was hacked and told me to move my money to some "level 3" Santander security account. He gave me a sort code starting with 08, but I stopped him right there and said Santander sort codes always start with 09. They hung up straight away. Definitely a scam, which I reported to both the police and the national fraud helpline.

Got a call claiming to be from Santander, but it was a scam. Best to just hang up and report the number. Absolutely not worth engaging with!

I got three calls from this number, and when I picked up, they said someone had taken £500 from my bank. I quickly logged into my online banking while still on the call and saw nothing had changed, so I just ended the call.

I got a call from someone saying they were Chloe from the Santander fraud dept, checking some suspicious payments. I hung up and phoned Santander myself, turns out it was a scam.

Got a call from 08003897000 saying they were from Santander. I rang my bank straight away to check and they said that number isn’t theirs at all. Definitely be careful and verify with your own bank if you get a call like this - it seems really dodgy.

Totally a scam. I got caught bad! I foolishly let them control my computer and now I’m waiting for a tech to fix everything. Rang Santander straight away and they said the calls weren’t from them. They spotted a suspicious charge of about £1300 trying to go through but thankfully the bank blocked it. Now I’ve got to get new cards issued. Watch out, this trickster was really good at fooling me!!!

Got a call from a bloke saying he was from Santander’s fraud team. I didn’t share any info and just ended the call. Then I rang the number on the back of my card myself and Santander told me it was a scam attempt.

I got called four times today, 03/11/2020, from this number 0800389 7000. On the last ring, I picked up and the person said they were from Santander's fraud team, saying my account was “compromised” and they needed details of my last transaction. I told the bloke I couldn't recall it, and he got really annoyed, snapping at me and asking why I didn’t know. I then told him I was recording the call and planned to send it straight to the police fraud squad. He then swore at me and hung up. Proper dodgy.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with Santander’s fraud team, saying there was urgent suspicious activity on my account and they needed my info right away. I pretended to be confused and dragged the convo out, which seemed to annoy them - they ended up swearing at me! This kind of scam needs to stop. I've already alerted Santander about it. Everyone else, please email [email protected][###][###] with this phone number so they can keep an eye out. Cheers!

About forty five minutes ago, I got a call from this number saying they were with Santander’s Fraud Department. The woman on the line had a South London accent and kept saying my account had been hacked and I needed to update my banking info. I told her I’d rather visit my local branch to sort it out in person. But she kept pushing that she had to provide me with new bank details over the phone. I cut the call short and then rang up Santander myself - they confirmed it wasn’t them at all. Just a heads up for anyone else!

Got a bloke on the phone claiming to be from Santander’s fraud team, said there’d been some dodgy card use in Manchester. Didn’t sound right at all so I hung up straight away. Then he tried calling a couple more times. When I questioned him properly, he suddenly said he was actually from TSB instead!

I received a letter that appeared to be from Santander, and it had this number listed at the bottom. I decided to give them a call, but they asked for my account number, which immediately raised alarm bells for me. I hung up right away because it felt dodgy. I reckon this might be a scam!

I contacted Santander via 0800 085 1954, only to be informed that this number was outdated and redirected me to 0800 389 7000. Believing I was doing the right thing, I dialled the new number. A woman's voice came through, seemingly trying to imitate a pre-recorded message, but then inquired if I wished to settle a payment. Upon my refusal, she proceeded to ask a few more questions before abruptly cutting the line. This is quite concerning for Santander, as it seems like there might be a fraudulent scheme at play within their network.
