I recently received a call from this number. The moment we picked up, they announced our name and promptly hung up. It seems like a scam orchestrated by some company attempting to place you in a ring directory. When you answer, they suck you into their dodgy list, then peddle your details to marketing firms eager to sell you everything from double glazing to whatever the newest craze is. If you happen to call them back, they'll try to sell you something and add your number to another dodgy directory. Just another sneaky way of spamming!

We received a call from them earlier this afternoon. According to these individuals, they were contacting us on behalf of BT to encourage us to sign up for a credit card.

I've been inundated with calls from this number, 08003 896 818, yet every time they ring, there's never a message left. It's quite infuriating, to say the least. We usually let the answering machine take the call first. If we don’t recognise the number or the caller, we simply delete it without a thought of calling back. It's a nuisance, really, and they’re just wasting their time as much as ours!

I just had a call from this number, and the folks on the other end claimed they were from O2, trying to convince me to extend my contract for another 12 weeks. They were asking for some personal details "for security reasons," but I didn't disclose anything. The call didn't even have any caller ID; only the number appeared on my phone. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I've just had a call from someone claiming to be from O2, but I quickly realised it's a scam. I gave them a piece of my mind, and they ended up hanging up. Now I'm on a mission to find out who these people are and intend to report them.

Earlier today, at precisely 14:40 on the 5th of February, 2008, we received a call from this number. We’ve got a rule of thumb - we only answer calls from numbers saved in our contacts. So, naturally, we decided to look it up online to see who it might be. A big shout-out to all of you who've contributed your findings; it really helps quell the curiosity about who's on the other end of the line. We’ve always thought if the call was important enough, they'd leave a message. No message left means they’re just wasting our time, doesn’t it?

We've been receiving calls from this number regularly, and every time we pick up, there's just silence on the other end before they disconnect. It's quite vexing, especially since we’re ex-directory and shouldn't be on anyone's radar. Thankfully, this thread has provided some helpful insights!

I've been receiving calls for a fortnight now at various times throughout the day, and every time I answer, I’m met with silence. The last call I got was on the 12th of December, around 5:05 PM, and still no one on the other end. Quite perplexing, really!

Just a quick note to share some advice I've come across. When you receive calls from those pesky 0800 numbers, give the hash key a good bashing repeatedly until they hang up. The idea is that it disrupts their line and they lose your number from their records. I’m certainly going to give this a go the next time my phone rings with one of those annoying calls! This trick works whether you’re dealing with silent calls or actual folks on the other end, just keep hammering that hash until they give up. Best of luck to you all!

I recently received a call from this number, and they hung up as soon as I answered. After a bit of searching, I came across this site and entered the number (0800 0324617). Thankfully, my number has now been added to the 'do not call' list. It was straightforward and efficient, and to top it off, they even expressed their apologies for any hassle caused!

What an absolute farce! It really makes you question the values of a so-called democratic society. It's disheartening to see that there's seemingly no desire for tranquillity within our own abodes!

A peculiar business tried calling us recently, and when we answered, there was utter silence on the other end. I reckon I've got a strategy that might prove useful. When one of these persistent callers strikes again, pick up the phone but don’t hang up. Instead, disconnect the plug from the socket, give it a ten-second pause, and then reconnect it. The theory is that by cutting the line temporarily, they may get the hint and decide not to ring back. It’s worth a shot, don’t you think?

I received a call from this number earlier today. But the moment I tried to ring back, the line disconnected. Instead, I got a voicemail from something called The Listening Firm, which claimed to be a marketing outfit. They provided a number, 0800 032 4617, for opting out of their calls. It seems quite genuine, to be honest.

I've been getting calls from the same number twice a day, and every single time, they hang up without saying a word. It's quite pathetic, really. What a sad way to spend their time!

We received a call not long ago, just about ten seconds back, and I often find myself answering them during the early hours, typically around mid-afternoon. It can be quite unnerving. Could really use some assistance here!

I've received calls from this number repeatedly after updating my mobile contract. Each time, I politely mention that I’m not interested, yet they persist with daily calls. It’s quite exasperating, to say the least!

I received a call earlier, but no one was on the other end of the line. It seems these folks have managed to interfere with our phone line. Then, they rang again inquiring about my wife, claiming to be from Sky TV and wanting to speak with her. Quite baffling, to say the least!

I've had numerous calls from individuals claiming to represent Orange Mobile Business, trying to peddle their Orange phones and broadband services. Each time they ring, I can't help but inform them that I get absolutely no signal from Orange in my area-not even the faintest hint of a bar! They usually respond with something along the lines of, "No problem, we'll give you a call another time." It's rather amusing, really!

Similar to many others, we received calls from this number, which turned out to be affiliated with a Market Research firm. When we returned their call, we were provided with a number to opt out of their database: 0800 032 4617. The best way to test the theory!

I recently received a call from this number, and it's rather disheartening, isn't it? You'd think that if you reached out to your own phone provider, they might actually have the means to block these individuals, yet here we are. Wouldn't it be great if we could ring them back and actually have a proper conversation? I'd certainly like to have my say! It's infuriating that, by law, they’re obligated to remove your details, yet they seem to have no regard whatsoever for our privacy. Such inconsiderate individuals, honestly!

Every now and then, our phone goes off, and when we answer, it’s just silence. This happens so often now, multiple times a month! All we hear is a bit of office noise in the background before they abruptly hang up. Instead of letting frustration get the better of us, we’ve turned it into a bit of a game at work. Instead of losing our cool, we have a good chuckle and have a bit of fun at their expense. It’s become our little stress-relief ritual!

Just received a call about ten minutes past nine this morning on the 12th of January, 2008. Strange thing is, we've been getting calls from these folks for the last month or so, always at various times. Each time we pick up, there's just silence on the other end. We tried calling them back, and it turns out it's some sort of listening company? Quite odd, to say the least!
