Got a text from this number claiming to be Santander Bank, asking me to call back about some deal they said I had with the bank. They even mentioned my account supposedly ending in 1169 - which is totally wrong because that’s not my number at all. Pretty sneaky mistake on their part! I just got a letter claiming to be from Santander, showing the number 0800 389 6655 and saying I owe £21.20 on a credit card. Thing is, I haven’t touched that card in years and threw it away ages ago. It worries me that some people, not so good with these things, might be tricked cause the letter looks pretty official. Got a call saying Argos had taken £199.99 from my account. They wanted me to confirm if it was legit or not. I told them no, no such transaction happened. I then replied to the message, but a few minutes later, someone else phoned me. Thing is, they acted like they didn’t know my account had been closed nearly two years ago. I just ended up hanging up on them. Totally feels like a scam to me.

Sounded really legit at first, but when I searched the number online, this site came up which the caller said was made by scammers to block Santander from helping - obviously not true. Do NOT share any info! Santander themselves say they will NEVER call you directly, they only send genuine texts asking you to ring them back. Total scam alert!

Got a call from someone saying they were from Santander, asking if I’d made a couple of transactions. They even knew my area and claimed they were checking my insurance and making sure my phone was clear of viruses. It sounded really sketchy, so I just ended the call. Definitely a scam! Got a call from someone claiming there was suspicious activity on my Santander account. I told them I was tied up and to ring back later. While waiting, I rang Santander myself to verify, and it turned out to be a complete scam. They advised me to block the number. On top of that, I received a message from the NHS about a PCR test.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with the "Santander fraud team" and at first they sounded pretty believable. They told me there’d been recent transactions on my account - like a £500 payment to HMRC, a £400 one to a car dealer, and a direct debit set up with another company. They even knew the last four digits of my card, the model of my phone, and roughly where I live. But when I asked them to prove who they really were by giving me my postcode or account number, she suddenly said she wasn’t authorised to see that info. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it!

I just got a call from someone saying they were from Santander’s fraud team, but don’t fall for it - it’s a scam! They were after my bank info. When I questioned them, they immediately hung up. So, I rang Santander’s official fraud line to check and they confirmed it was a fake call, saying they hadn’t tried to contact me. Also, watch out for texts claiming your Apple card’s been frozen - that’s just how they begin these scams. It’s awful how these people try to steal your money. Stay safe and don’t give out your details!

Didn't pick up at all but they kept on calling. Every time I declined, they rang back straight away. Ended up being like 10 calls in just a few seconds. Later on, I noticed I had 35 missed calls from the same number, so I just blocked it.

Got a letter that looked proper legit, apparently from Santander saying I owed money even tho I just cleared my balance not long ago. The letter asked for a paymnt but the account number it gave was totally wrong. I phoned them and spoke to someone with a decent English accent who sounded foreign, but when I asked about my real account number and said I had no money owed, she just hung up. Pretty sure it’s a con - they’re just counting on Santander folks not bothering to check the account details they mention.

Without a doubt, it’s a scam call. Someone phoned me claiming to be from Santander’s fraud team, saying they were sorting out a Royal Mail scam involving a redelivery charge. I reckon that redelivery fee is just another trick in the same scam. They acted all worried so they could coax out bank details and private info. Best thing to do is block this number as soon as you can.

I’m currently speaking with Santander after getting a call from this number about a suspicious transaction with "Royal Mail." They claimed someone spotted a dodgy payment, but I told them I’d definitely paid because I was expecting a delivery. The guy on the phone said this scam is happening to loads of people. Then he asked if a payment of £180 made somewhere in England was mine - it wasn’t, since I live up in Scotland. Next, he wanted me to log into my app and check my balance. Now I’ve had to freeze my account and will have to open a new one with a fresh card. These scammers are truly awful. They must be aware that missing payments can cost folks their homes or cars. It’s just horrible.

I was sure right away that it was a scam since my card wasn’t late and the card number they mentioned didn’t match mine at all. Be careful with these, always check directly with your local branch.
