Got an identical email asking me to pay three separate amounts of £867.99 - what a bunch of cheeky scammers! I didn’t bother ringing the number given, seemed totally suspicious to me. I just cancelled the payment through PayPal and would advise anyone else to do the same. Definitely don’t call that number from the invoice, and if you can, report it to PayPal. Once you cancel the payment, that’s it - they won’t get a penny from you.

Got an email that looked like it was from PayPal, saying someone called Tammy Garnett tried to charge me £867. I had a quick look at my actual PayPal account and sure enough, there was a pending request I didn’t recognise. Never heard of Tammy at all. I quickly cancelled the transaction through the app, blocked the email address, and reported it to PayPal as a phishing attempt. Didn’t click any links in the email and just deleted it straight away. Definitely a scam!

We got an email that looked like it was from PayPal saying there was an issue with a payment, and it asked us to ring this number to sort it out. The phone number was shown as +44-800-368-9757. The email came from the "Sent" address [email protected], which was made to look legit, just like PayPal’s messages.

I got a message from Paypal about a payment I didn’t recognise and it told me to ring a number. Thinking it was real, I called. They seemed to know loads about me which freaked me out. But when they asked for my credit card details, I asked if they were scammers and then they just hung up on me. Definitely dodgy.

Got an email from what looked like PayPal.co.uk saying there was some weird activity on my PayPal account. Thing is, PayPal's real website is PayPal.com, not .co.uk. Knew straight away it was a scam, so I didn’t bother calling.

Got a PayPal request from someone called "Mkeyla Reid" asking for £899.99, with a weird message saying "SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY DETECTED ON YOUR ACCOUNT 899.99 GBP TAKEN PLEASE CALL +44-800-368-9757 RIGHT AWAY". Just ignored and deleted it, no way was I ringing that number - looked dodgy from the start.

Please, do not ring this number. I got an email claiming to be from Paypal warning me about a dodgy payment on my account and telling me to call this number. Watch out, they’re definitely scammers. They pretended to be Paypal staff and asked me for my email, then wanted the Paypal security code that popped up on my phone to “verify” my identity. The call sounded like it was coming from a call centre, which made it feel more legit, but the person on the other end barely spoke English and was really hard to understand. I got suspicious and hung up, but after that I couldn’t log into my Paypal account. Luckily, I managed to reset my password quickly and take back control before anything serious happened, as they were trying to take a payment of £900. I never thought I’d be caught out by something like this, but they’re very convincing scammers.

I got a payment request from someone named Melissa Avalos asking for £899.99 on my PayPal. The message said something about "SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY FOUND IN YOUR ACCOUNT" and that £899.99 had been taken out, telling me to ring +44-800-368-9757 straight away to sort it out. Obviously, I just deleted it and didn’t bother calling - total scam from the start.

Also flagged it and blocked the sender instantly.

Absolute cheats trying to scam people out of their cash. Just got a message from someone named AYDA RAMIREZ claiming there’s some dodgy stuff going on with my account. The note said 899.99 GBP was taken without permission and told me to ring +44-800-368-9757 right away to sort it out. Total rubbish!

I never dialled the number or opened any links. I reported the whole thing straight away to PayPal on their official email. Here’s what the message said: WARNING FROM Annie Hughes: UNAUTHORISED TRANSACTION DETECTED - 899.99 GBP HAS BEEN TAKEN FROM YOUR ACCOUNT. PLEASE CONTACT US ASAP AT +44-800-368-9757 TO ADDRESS THIS.

AVOID ANSWERING! This is a scam! Someone named Lafreda Y Labon tried to get money from me with a dodgy request saying: "UNUSUAL TRANSACTION IN YOUR ACCOUNT, £899.99 WAS TAKEN. About an hour ago I ran into the same problem. What I'd recommend is to transfer any funds sitting in your PayPal over to your own bank right away. After that, log into PayPal and delete your bank card info and account details from the “wallet” section on the app. That way, you lower the risk of anyone getting access to your money. Stay cautious everyone!

I got a message supposedly from "Joseph Slezak" requesting £899.99 through PayPal, which felt off. The note said something like: "URGENT: UNAUTHORISED TRANSACTION £899.99, CONTACT US NOW AT +44-800-368-9757." Obviously, this seems like a total scam trying to trick you. If you check your bank or PayPal records closely, you’ll see no such transaction happened. Definitely avoid calling that number and report it straight away.
