He told me there were a couple of payments adding up to nearly £1500 on hold because they looked strange for my account. He said I should ring a certain number to get through to the fraud team so they could stop the payments and send me a new card. Also mentioned two sign-ins to my online banking. I then phoned my mobile from the landline number they used, just to make sure their line wasn’t still open. Afterwards, I rang the official customer service number on the back of my card. Total con! No sign of any payments or suspicious activity on my account.
