I received a message just like that earlier today.

I received an email purportedly from PayPal, which raised considerable alarm. It was from a certain Martin J Phelps, requesting a sum of £699, or thereabouts. The message warned of a "SUSPICIOUS TRANSACTION OF £699.00 GBP TO ASDA GIFT CARDS DISCOVERED IN YOUR ACCOUNT." It urged me to ring them straight away at +44-800-368-6852 to avert this transaction. Along with this, I also got a similar message from another individual, causing me to feel quite uneasy.

I received two emails that claimed to be from PayPal, warning me about some questionable £699 transactions on my account. They urged me to contact a certain number, but there's absolutely no chance I'm doing that. Clearly a scam!

I received a call from a young chap with an Asian accent who was certainly up to no good. He rang me supposedly representing my internet provider but got all flustered and ended the call as soon as I began to probe him with questions. Clearly, he’s trying to pull a fast one!
