Got a call from someone pretending to be HSBC. Total scam, don't believe them!

Scam alert! Just had a call from someone purporting to be my bank. Definitely a dodgy situation!

This morning, I received a rather alarming phone call suggesting that there was an attempt to withdraw funds from my account for something labelled as "TV licensing." Earlier, I’d received an email stating the payment hadn’t gone through, and considering I was about to close that account, I thought there was nothing left in it. I then rang my bank, intending to cancel my card as advised by the caller (though I was told to do that tomorrow), only to find out there was absolutely no transaction of that nature on my account-turns out it was just a scam. I can't help but feel a bit foolish!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Nationwide saying there’d been some dodgy stuff on my account and that they’d frozen it. I rang Nationwide myself and they said there’s nothing wrong or suspicious on my account. I’m sure they’ll try ringing back soon asking me to move money or something!

Just had a rather unsettling phone call from a chap named Vikram, who had quite a thick Indian accent. He presented himself as part of my bank's fraud team-not from Lloyds like mentioned previously, mind. This fellow insisted that my case handler was one David Grey and even knew the last four digits of my bank account. He directed me to take a look at my accounts and asked me to ring him back afterwards. Apparently, he warned that my card was at risk of being compromised and would be cancelled. However, upon checking with my actual bank, they confirmed they hadn’t made such a call, and indeed this was a scam. Be wary, folks!

He’s called me again, sounds like he’s got a posh Scottish accent or something. This is the second call I’ve had from him.

Honestly, don’t trust this guy. He called me early today and gave me a real fright. He’s Scottish and kept pushing for me to send money into some account so he could get hold of it. Seriously, just don’t fall for it. Stay safe out there.

I got a call from a guy speaking with a Scottish accent, saying he was from my bank. He claimed someone had tried moving £36,000 out of my account to Rwanda. He told me that if I found it fishy, I should call the bank back on the same number he dialled me from. I replied that I’d rather check my bank’s genuine number myself. When I looked up that number, it didn’t appear anywhere linked to my bank.

I received a call supposedly from my bank, and they even had my personal information linked to an invoice. It strikes me as odd that my bank would make calls on a Sunday morning. Most likely a scammer!

Someone rang me pretending to be from my bank, even mentioning stuff from a receipt they said was mine. Once I made it clear I knew they weren't legit, they started threatening to come round with their pals and cause trouble if I didn’t do what they wanted. I just ended the call straight away.
