Got several calls last week from a group calling themselves PC Experts located in ‘London’. They claim to be working with Microsoft, but it’s obviously a scam. When I challenged them, they either got rude or just rattled off nonsense. On one call, I asked to speak with a manager to verify who they were, mentioning that I was about to ring Microsoft myself because of all the scam reports online - the guy just hung up straight away. By the third time they rang, I started wasting their time, making up stuff about having 43 computers and asking which one to switch on. I even threw in questions like “how many people have you conned out of their savings today?” and “why not try an honest job instead of ripping people off?” They went dead silent after that! It’s scary how many vulnerable folks might actually fall for this rubbish.

Someone called me from this number saying there were loads of errors on my PC and asked me to switch it on so they could connect remotely. It's true that I've been having the same issues they mentioned, but I wasn’t about to let some random stranger access my computer without some proof. I asked for their company’s name and a contact number to call back. They gave me this number, but when I rang it, it just sounded like a fax machine. Feels dodgy to me, like a scam.

Keept getting calls from 020 8777 5555, so I figured I’d ring them back since it’s supposedly a freephone number they cover the cost for. When I did, it just connected to something like a fax or an answer machine, so nobody picks up - which means they end up paying for the call. Turnabout is fair play!

This number has rung me up around four times over the last couple of weeks, telling me to switch on my PC so they can connect to it, claiming there’s loads of errors being reported on my device. Do they really think I'm daft? I told them to stop ringing me, but they just said they’ll keep phoning until I do what they ask. They went on about how dangerous these viruses were, like they could jump from one computer to another - are viruses airborne now or what? Seems like they’re phoning everyone nearby. It’s so frustrating because they just won’t give up.

Totally fed up with these lot, this time an Indian bloke claimed his name was Jasper. They beep my phone up to 20 times daily! He said he was ringing from Microsoft about some problem with my computer. I played along for a bit, then he asked me to log in so he could fix things remotely. I told him I was actually a certified Microsoft engineer and just like that, he hung up on me straight away.

I received a call from someone claiming to be connected to Microsoft, saying they wanted to fix problems on my computer. The caller ID was hidden, but when I asked for a phone number to get back to them, they gave me one that looks more like a fax number. After doing some digging, it became clear this was just another scam.

I got a call from this bloke with an accent, maybe Indian, who said he was from IT support. He wanted to know if I was the main user of my PC. I told him I was tied up and asked if I could ring him back. He said to ask for someone named Annie Williams or something like that. When I repeated the name, he started speaking in a language I couldn’t catch at all. Seems proper dodgy to me - watch out! My husband’s an IT guy and we definitely don’t get tech help from abroad!

A person rang us up, trying to persuade us to switch on our computer to verify some details. Quite the odd request, if you ask me!
