Reports on phone number 08003101045
10 yearsI received a call from this number, whereby the caller insisted that I switch on my computer so they could remotely access it due to several supposed errors that had been reported to them. While it is indeed true that I'm experiencing some of the issues they mentioned, I would never grant access to my machine to someone I’ve never met or vetted. Consequently, I requested the company name and a contact number that I could reach them at. To my surprise, the number they provided sounded suspiciously like a fax machine when I rang it. I have a strong suspicion this might be a scam.10 yearsI've been inundated with calls from 020 8777 5555, yet they provided me with a number to ring back that’s a freephone line at their expense. Why not turn the tables and give them a taste of their own medicine? When you call back, it connects to a modem or fax, so technically it doesn't answer - leaving them to foot the bill!10 yearsOver the last fortnight, I've received four calls from this number, all urging me to switch on my computer so they can connect remotely, claiming there are numerous errors flagged on my device. Do they think I'm some sort of fool? I've instructed them to stop calling, but they insist they'll keep bothering me until I give in. They even went on about how these supposed viruses could spread from one computer to another. Really? Airborne viruses now, are they?! It appears they’re harassing everyone locally as well. It’s incredibly infuriating as their persistence is truly astounding!10 yearsA chap named Samuel rang me up from this number, claiming he could "help" me with my computer issues. Just a heads up, folks-stay vigilant!Samuel10 yearsTotally fed up with these lot, this time an Indian bloke claimed his name was Jasper. They beep my phone up to 20 times daily! He said he was ringing from Microsoft about some problem with my computer. I played along for a bit, then he asked me to log in so he could fix things remotely. I told him I was actually a certified Microsoft engineer and just like that, he hung up on me straight away.JasperMicrosoft11 yearsI received a call from someone claiming to be connected to Microsoft, saying they wanted to fix problems on my computer. The caller ID was hidden, but when I asked for a phone number to get back to them, they gave me one that looks more like a fax number. After doing some digging, it became clear this was just another scam.Microsoft11 yearsI received a call from a man with an accent that sounded rather foreign-possibly Indian-who introduced himself as part of some IT support team. He wanted to know if I was the main user of the computer. When I mentioned that I was occupied at the moment and suggested I ring him back, he instructed me to request Annie Williams. However, when I tried to clarify the name, he suddenly started speaking in an entirely different language, which left me utterly puzzled. I can say without a doubt this was a scammer-so do take care! My husband is in the IT field, and I’m well aware that we don’t have any overseas tech support.Annie Williams11 yearsI received a rather peculiar call from a gentleman with an Asian accent who insisted that I was experiencing issues with my computer. He urged me to power it up, warning that otherwise, I might encounter further complications.11 yearsA person rang us up, trying to persuade us to switch on our computer to verify some details. Quite the odd request, if you ask me!Submit Your Own Report (0800 310 1045)
