My phone rang and some bloke from India started yabbering about malware on my internet. I told him there’s no way, and joked that he’d better ring my neighbour then 'cause I've been using his internet for ages without him knowing. That really seemed to rile him up!

About four minutes ago, I got a call from 08002234455. When I tried calling them back, all I heard was a buzzing sound. I'm meant to be protected by fraud services that should be preventing annoying calls like this, so where exactly were those fraud people when this happened?

I got a call from some computer with an American accent telling me my internet was full of malware and illegal stuff, and that I’d get arrested if I didn’t press 1. Total rubbish, obviously just some scammers trying it on.

Got a robocall saying I was in trouble with BT over some internet hack and to press 1. I did, just to see who it was - sounded like some Indian or Asian lady on the line. I replied with a cheeky 'hello BT' and she seemed well annoyed I wasn’t falling for it, started shouting in some language I couldn’t understand. I just ended the call then.

Got a call with a robot voice saying there was some dodgy activity on my BT internet, and if I didn’t hit 1 right away, I’d get arrested. Totally fishy, so didn’t engage.

The number seemed legit at first, but the moment I picked up, I knew it was a scam. Some dodgy robot voice claimed it was from BT, saying my internet was compromised and that I had to press 1 or face arrest. What a load of rubbish. Seriously, don’t get caught out by these muppets!

Like a few others have mentioned, the message is pretty much telling you to press 1 or else you'll be charged with fraud and could get arrested!

We got a call from these nuisances on our landline, and like always, they just ended the call as soon as our answerphone picked up. The number could be fake too, so don’t be sure it’s even from the UK.

Got a call from this number earlier today but no voicemail was left. I’ve gone ahead and blocked it now.

After the phone rang a couple of times I hung up and quickly used 1471 to check the number. I don’t get many calls on my landline, and nearly all the ones I do get are from people whose numbers I already recognise, so this helps me keep those annoying pest callers at bay a bit.

Got a call from some American automated voice saying BT was gonna arrest me for some malware scam. They told me to press 1 straight away. Total rubbish, obviously a scam. I just ended the call right away.

I got this weird call from some robot voice saying my BT internet was hacked by scammers. It was telling me to press 1 or else I'd end up being arrested. Obviously, this was a scam since I don’t even use BT broadband. If you get calls like this, just hang up and block the number like I did. Don’t fall for it!

Got a recorded message warning me my internet would be cut off within a day. Pressed 1 and got connected to someone at a call centre who claimed there was an issue with my account and my internet was going to be stopped. I told her everything seemed fine, lights on the router were normal, but she got a bit flustered and insisted the problem was definitely on my end.

Got a call from someone with a super American-sounding robot voice, said they were from BT and there was a problem with my line. Thing is, I don’t even have BT as my provider. Had a bit of fun messing with them, then they just ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC and that there was some tax fraud going on. They told me to hit 1 to talk to an agent, and warned me if I didn’t, I’d get arrested. Definitely a scam - do yourself a favour and block the number and report it straight away!
