Today I got loads of calls from someone claiming there’s fraud on my BT internet. It’s happened a few times and they keep ringing from the North Staffordshire region. Definitely seems like a scam.

I got a phone call earlier today claiming my BT internet account was linked to some illegal stuff and if I didn’t press 1 to speak with a BT agent, I’d be in trouble with the law. The voice sounded like an automated message and was definitely American. The thing is, I don’t even use BT internet!

Got a call from an unknown number and since I never pick up calls I don't recognise, I just let it ring out. No message left, so I went ahead and blocked them. We're from Belper, Derbyshire, looks like they're starting to target this area now.

Like others have said already, it’s just a total scam again. BT really should start owning up to all these dodgy calls. The only reason they might act is if you cough up some cash, which is pretty frustrating 😡

Got a call from a number claiming to be BT’s tech support, but the accent sounded off, maybe some American or Canadian trying to sound British? They were talking about some illegal activity stuff, which honestly made me hang up pretty quick. Not wasting my time, just blocked the number straight away.

Got a voicemail from someone claiming to be from BT warning me of fraud on my line. They kept shouting at me to “press one right now or you’ll be arrested!” The way he spoke was really threatening - anyone elderly would probably be really scared. Don’t ever press one! You’d just be ringing a scammer’s number and it charges you £15 a minute! Total scam.

My mum got a ring from this number on her landline. The bloke told her her phone had been involved in fraud and she had to hit 1 or else she'd be in big trouble.
