Strange thing, I got a call from what looked like a Barclays card number. It was one of those robocalls saying it was from the card company and wanted me to press a key to confirm if my name was right. Then it asked for my birthday to make sure it was really me. I got suspicious and ended the call straight away. Funny enough, a few days later my card got blocked, so I rang their fraud team and they confirmed it was a legit number calling after all. Yet, when I checked their site, it clearly states they don’t ask for personal info like that during calls! Quite confusing if you ask me.

Today I received a robo call from 08001512165 claiming there was suspicious activity on my Barclaycard. They wanted me to press 1 if the name they gave was correct, and then asked me to provide my date of birth. I ended the call straight away. On Barclaycard’s official site, it clearly says they will never contact you by phone, text or email asking for personal or security info.

I got a legit automated phone call from the “Barclaycard Fraud Team” asking if I’d recently attempted to pay over £800 for heating oil. I had tried, but the payment didn’t actually go through because it was held back until confirmed legit. They said I’d be able to use my account again in like 5 minutes after that.

Don't just dismiss calls you get pretending to be from your bank. Sometimes it’s legit, other times it’s just some scammer faking the bank’s number. You’re never completely certain. Best thing to do is ring your bank directly using the number on your card. Usually, after putting in some details, they’ll let you chat to a proper person. Better safe than sorry!

I'm not sure if this call was a scam or legit. I gave the other contact numbers from Barclays site a go, but couldn't get through past the robot messages.

They’ve phoned me about four or five times already and just won’t give up. If someone less careful picks up, they could end up losing cash to these fraudsters. On the last call, I pretended to go along with it, even gave them wrong details on purpose, but they kept pushing anyway. They really don’t know when to stop.

Got a call from an automated voice claiming to be from Barclaycard fraud team, said they’d help me sort out some security issue. I just ended the call though. Now my card is blocked since I attempted a purchase, so maybe it was real after all? Bit puzzled here.

This number has rung me 4 times within a day. I looked up the digits and some sites say it might be Barclays, but I can't see this number anywhere on their official list. The voice sounds like a robot or recorded message, but it messed up the first letter, saying "G" instead of "J". For now, I've just blocked it since it seems dodgy and probably a scam.

Been getting calls nonstop today, started around 8am and they kept ringing until like 8.30pm. Proper annoying especially when I’m waiting on a hospital to ring back and being disabled makes it a real pain just trying to answer. Loads were Barclays card calls, but lucky for me I don’t even have one. Bet some folks might fall for it though, some woman named Linda Waltarney or something? So frustrating grrrr!

I got a voicemail from 08001512165 that began with: "Hello, we want to protect you from fraud. Press any key to start some security checks." It didn’t say it was Barclaycard right away, only after I waited and didn’t press anything did it say, "This is Barclaycard." Honestly, Barclays Fraud Team didn’t do themselves any favours - it left me pretty worried since this card replaced one that was hacked in a phishing scam just a few weeks ago. By the way, this number isn’t on the Barclaycard site anywhere.
