I got a call from an Asian lady pushing washing machine insurance. She reckoned even if the machine's working fine, it’s smart to get insured for later. Thing is, my washing machine actually packed up just last week, and my new one's arriving this Monday. Honestly, why don’t these rip-off calls stop already? It’s proper annoying.

Got a call earlier to my mum-in-law, she’s 86, saying there’s a cut on her washing machine insurance. Thing is, we’ve never even had insurance on that! She ended the call quick sharp, but I rang them back straight away to give ’em a piece of my mind - of course, the number’s nowhere to be found. Definitely blocking that one!

Caller said his name was John (lol) and he tried to sell me insurance for my washing machine for just £5. When I asked what brand it was, he weirdly just said yes, we have it. I asked again, saying he should know the make if he’s offering insurance. I told him I wasn’t falling for any scam. He said he wasn’t a scammer but ignored my question and instead asked if Mr Jones lived at my address - which was eerily correct. I said no and he immediately ended the call. Honestly, how do they get hold of such accurate info?

What a load of rubbish! My elderly dad, who’s 90, got a call from these lot trying to push him insurance for appliances he doesn’t even own. He said he never sorts things out on the phone and told them to send a letter if they wanted anything. Proper dodgy scammers if you ask me!

I got a call from someone trying to convince me to reduce my insurance costs on a washing machine, but I told them I didn't have one. Then suddenly it switched to a TV insurance. They already had my name and address, which I'm guessing they got from the electoral register. When I asked for the TV brand and the policy details, they couldn’t give me any clear answers, so I just ended the call. Pretty obvious con if you ask me.

Some bloke from a Home Appliance something or other called, but I didn’t catch the last word and he refused to repeat it. He started talking about lowering my TV insurance cost, so I asked for my policy number. He kept saying ‘Yes, we’ll provide it’. Then he said I was insured with them, but I told him to quit wasting my time as I don’t have any insurance for my television at all.

Like some others here, I got a call from a lady mentioning a £5 warranty for my washing machine. When she began to ask for my personal info, I told her I had no clue what she was referring to, didn’t want any kind of insurance on my machine, and asked her not to ring me back. The whole thing seemed a bit fishy, based on what I picked up.

Turns out this number used to belong to an older woman, and now I get bombarded with calls pretty much every day. This one’s just the newest addition to a long list. No idea what kind of stuff she got herself into back then, but I make it a point to waste their time when I can. Got a call about lowering payments on a warranty I never had. They wanted all my bank details like sort codes and IBANs - pretty smooth if you’re not careful. The number they used was really similar to a legit UK business based in Ruislip, and the caller even said they were from there. Looks like they’re trying to trick older folks who might be happy to hear about cutting costs. Proper dodgy and sneaky tactics, definitely best to stay clear of these scams.

I got a call from someone saying they were lowering the cost of my washing machine insurance. I told them I don’t even own a washing machine, and they just ended the call right away.

Got a call saying they could lower my monthly washing machine fee, claimed I had a Whirlpool, which I don’t at all. They told me to check my bank statements to see the charges coming out every month. Offered to cut it down to £5, but only if I signed up straight away. Totally rubbish. They’ve called me twice already, so I went ahead and blocked the number.
