Got calls from this number about 9 times yesterday between 12:04 and 9:37 pm. I don’t even have a Santander account, so why all the persistent calls? Bit daft if you ask me.

I tried calling back and an automated message asked me for some kind of code I didn’t have. Honestly, it’s a bit pointless if they’re going to call without saying anything. Got four calls on my landline from an automated voice claiming there was some fraud linked to a person they said was connected to me. I checked my Santander account online and there was no alert or message at all. Plus, my landline isn’t even registered as a contact number with them. They asked me to use the number 849 as a security reference! I’m quite shocked Santander doesn't seem to have a dedicated phone number just for reporting fraud like this. I got a rather dodgy text after making an online purchase. I chose not to reply to it, but shortly after, I received a phone call asking for my complete date of birth. I promptly hung up. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the message originated from +44 7860020554. I attempted to ring that number back, but no one picked up. I’m convinced this is a scam!

I got a call from Santander right after I sent some money, which really threw me off at first. They wanted me to get in touch with the company I paid to make sure the sort code and account details were right, since I’d got them through email and it might’ve been hacked or something. Honestly, they handled it well and were pretty chill about my worries. Fair play to Santander for looking out like that.
