I got a call from someone claiming to be Mark at BT, saying there was an issue with my router and to press 1 so an engineer could fix it. Felt fishy, so I just ended the call. A quick search on Google later showed it was just a scam.

Got a call from 01998570759 with a voicemail asking me to call back 800 093834 about a broken router. Sounds like it’s just another scam to me.

I got a phone call from a voicemail sounding bloke with a UK accent. The number showed up as 01339 564430. The message claimed my internet was about to get cut off as my licence had run out. Then it told me to ring a long number beginning with 8000 (without a zero in front) or press 1 to talk to some engineer. I just ended the call.

Got a voicemail from some bloke called Mark claiming to be from BT about my broadband. The moment he mentioned BT I ended the call straight away since I’m not even a BT customer. Honestly, they’re so annoying, they just keep pestering you nonstop.

I got a call from someone claiming to be ‘Mark’ at BT, saying my internet router’s ‘license’ had run out and it was broken - bit odd how these two problems popped up at once, right? Definitely a smart scam, and they even used a British/European accent which was a nice touch. BT actually warns older folks about these things in their public safety messages. Don’t let these scammers take your cash or damage your good name, folks!

So, my router’s acting up and the licence on it’s about to run out, but they’ll swap it out for free if I hit 1 or call back on that 0800 number to set up a time. The tricky bit is, the 0800 makes it seem proper genuine, which could easily fool older folks who might not know about sites like this one I always use to check strange numbers. Cheers for the heads up!

Just like others have said, I got one of those recorded calls about BT Router and my internet supposedly being disconnected, asking me to press 1 for a free update. I ended the call straight away. Then I checked my last number dialled with 1471, which turned out to be the same. I googled it, and saw loads of other people warning about it, so I didn’t bother calling back. Honestly, this site is really handy - cheers for that!

Got a robo call from someone saying they were "Mark" from BT, warning me my internet contract ran out and they'd soon cut me off. They even gave me a phone number to ring back. Yeah right, no thanks!

Some kind of robot said it was BT and that my internet would be cut off since my contract ended. Thing is, I switched from BT to a different provider about half a year ago. The automated voice asked me to ring them on a certain number, but I didn’t bother to check the number before just hanging up straight away.

Same sort of thing here, a bloke called Mark with a UK accent ringing about some licence that’s expired online and my internet might get turned off. Didn’t say anything about paying, though. Pretty much the same story as the rest.

Got a voicemail from a Mark claiming to be with BT. I called him back, but the guy who answered had a strong Indian accent and just gave me the same spiel as everyone else here mentioned. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Some guy rang me saying he’s with BT and claimed there was an issue with my internet, mentioning hackers from China or something like that. He said I had to switch on my computer right away so he could help sort it out. When I asked what a computer was, he just cut the call.

I got a call from some bloke named Mark who said he was from BT, wanting to swap out my broken router. Thing is, I’m not even a BT customer. Why offer me a replacement then? Feels connected to those other calls I've been getting from the Asian sub-continent lads who also say my internet's got issues and keep banging on about how BT is the top dog of UK communications, like they run the whole show or something!

Got a call bright and early at 7:30 AM today from a recorded voice pretending to be BT. They said my internet was about to get cut off and urged me to call their number straight away. Total scam, obviously!

Like the others have said, I got a call from a guy sounding really posh, saying he was from BT and that my router needed changing. Problem is, BT isn’t my internet provider at all, so there’s no way they’d be ringing me about that. Definitely a scam. I guess some folks might fall for it because of the fancy accent. This one’s dodgy - watch out!

Just like others have said about calls claiming to be from BT about cutting off my internet, this number keeps ringing me on a different phone line that doesn’t even have broadband or any BT services. It’s quite odd.

Got a call from a posh sounding bloke with a British accent saying my BT broadband was going to be cut off unless I accepted a free new router. The number started with 22?7 or something like that. After looking it up and reading here, it seems like just another fraud trying to trick people. Honestly, BT really needs to get a grip on this mess and stop these scam calls!

Received a call like many others with a recorded message telling me to get in touch to book a free engineer visit to swap out an old router. The way it was said seemed quite believable and could easily mislead older folks or anyone not on their guard. After confirming with bt, it was clear this was a scam. We really need to look out for vulnerable people and raise awareness about this sort of thing.

I just missed a call and received a rather suspicious automated message from someone named “Mark” claiming to be with BT. He said that my Wi-Fi hub had been compromised and that they would be disconnecting it soon. He urged me to ring a specific number to set up a time for an engineer to come and install a new hub. Sounds a bit dodgy, doesn’t it?
