About thirty minutes ago, I found myself mindlessly flicking through my Facebook feed when I stumbled upon an article that piqued my interest. After clicking on it, an alarming message suddenly appeared on my screen. It instructed me to ring a number: 08000903822. Here’s what the message said: **Error Alert - Urgent - Critical - Serious 24X Online Notification:** WARNING: It has come to our attention that you may have illegally accessed or shared copyrighted materials. You have been viewing or distributing illicit adult content. Your internet access has been suspended in order to safeguard your information until this matter is resolved. We strongly urge you to contact our certified tech support immediately at: 08000903822 FOR URGENT ASSISTANCE. To begin with, I have no connection to the insinuations they're making. I didn’t trust the site one bit. It wouldn’t even allow me to exit or click the 'X' to close the window, and there was no way I was going to dial that number. So, I took the sensible approach of shutting down my computer for an hour. After some time, I returned to do a bit of research on this number. I realise this is quite a long tale, but I hope it proves useful and I’m open to any thoughts or feedback!

Just like others here, I was scrolling through Facebook reading about this bloke in a supermarket whose life was saved by a stranger when suddenly a message appeared saying I'd visited some dodgy porn site without permission! I’d had something similar before on a different Facebook link. It wouldn’t let me close it no matter what I tried. Eventually I had to force my laptop off, and after restarting it, everything was fine again. I knew right away it was a scam, but I decided to look up the phone number to see if anyone else had been caught out by this.

I was scrolling through Facebook and tapped on a story about a kid who got saved, then suddenly my computer just froze up. Outta nowhere, this poorly made screen pretending to be from Microsoft popped up saying my PC was locked for viewing kiddie porn and that I had to call a number. I knew it was dodgy right off the bat, so I looked up the number here and saw loads of others saying it was a scam too.

Got a message pop up on my computer so I decided to call them, not sure what’s next though. I didn’t share any personal details, and my email isn’t listed anywhere online.

Someone called me claiming to be from the supermarket and mentioned Theo's number. They told me to reboot my computer and then just suddenly ended the call.

I've encountered some dodgy characters using this number, purporting to be from Microsoft. They managed to get my screen locked, and it’s definitely a scam! Whatever you do, steer clear of calling them back; they’ll only mess up your computer further and demand payment to unlock it. The best course of action? Just shut your device down and reboot it. And under no circumstances should you opt for the restore option on Chrome!

So I was scrolling through Facebook and saw this pic of a guy with a beard in a shop holding a little kid. Then suddenly, a message popped up saying I’d been watching porn and my computer was hacked, telling me to call 0800 090 3822 because my PC was supposedly at risk. It felt really dodgy so I just rebooted my laptop and looked up the number on Google - that's how I ended up on this site.

I got a call from this number warning me my bank info was stolen, so I looked it up on my computer. Felt a bit iffy about it, but I called back anyway. Quickly figured it was just a scam and ended the call without sharing any details. They actually called me two more times after that.
