Upon attempting to access Facebook, my computer suddenly became unresponsive and locked me out. I decided to call the number displayed on the screen, and after quite a lengthy chat, they proposed to resolve the issue for a hefty sum of £200. When I mentioned that I knew someone who could sort it out for me, they didn't take that too well, and our conversation abruptly concluded. After powering off the computer and restarting it, everything seemed to be functioning perfectly again.

I recently encountered a rather alarming virus alert message while scrolling through Facebook, complete with ominous warnings. It insisted that I call 0800 086 9833 to learn how to eliminate this supposed virus. The funny thing is, I have reliable antivirus software that showed no issues at all. I decided to power off my device and then restart it, and everything was working just fine. Definitely a dodgy scam if you ask me!

I had a rather unsettling experience with my computer recently. An Indian gentleman called and somehow managed to get into my system. It raised some alarm bells when he started asking for my age, which struck me as quite odd. Then, he requested an extortionate sum of £190 to resolve the issues he claimed I had. I promptly booted him off my machine and restarted it, then contacted the authorities straight away. Believe it or not, they attempted to ring me back, but when I mentioned the police were on the line, they hung up. I urge everyone to be on their guard and share this warning with anyone who might be at risk!

I strongly suspect this is a con. I clicked on a news article on Facebook, and all of a sudden, my computer became 'locked,' flashing a message about a serious security breach. It instructed me to call a number and provided an incident reference. After finally getting through, they asked a few questions regarding my warranty, only to then inform me there would be a charge to resolve the issue. At that point, I expressed my desire to look into this further, and they hastily ended the call. Absolutely don’t provide them with any card details-just shut down your machine, and it should be back to normal when you power it up again. This has been a valuable lesson for me; I'm steering clear of any links on Facebook from now on!

Saw an ad on Facebook that looked a bit dodgy, so I decided to give the number a ring. The moment I heard the Indian accent on the other end, I knew it was all a ruse! They even called me back twice in rapid succession from 0018884686501. Just thought I'd share this in case it’s helpful for anyone else!

So I rang that number after a scary alert popped up on my laptop. The bloke on the phone told me to open task manager to check what was running. Then he wanted me to type “firewall” in some box or something... but there wasn’t anything like that on my screen. After about an hour of this nonsense, I just ended the call. Felt pretty worried after, so I ended up switching all my passwords for Google and Facebook using my phone, just to be safe.

My computer got blocked three times because of this. If this is an ad on Facebook, why is there no way to block it? It's really frustrating!

I got an ad pop up on my Facebook that claimed to be from Microsoft Support and it ended up locking my computer. Luckily, I just removed Firefox from my laptop and then installed it again, which fixed the problem. Definitely a scam, don’t trust those Facebook ads. Stay cautious!

I received an alarming email on Facebook, supposedly from Microsoft Support, warning me that my computer was riddled with spyware and would shut down imminently unless I contacted a specified number. Coincidentally, my PC had also locked me out at that very moment. I rang the number, and the individual on the other end instructed me to press ctrl + Windows tab followed by D. Lo and behold, it brought me back to my desktop! However, as they continued with further probing questions, I decided to end the call. To my surprise, they called back, and I told them I suspected it was a scam and that I would seek professional help. When they pressed me about who I would go to for this check, I chose not to disclose any details.
