9 monthsGot an email that looked pretty much identical to the last couple of ones, except the dates were set in October 2025. It seemed super legit at first glance.1 yearGot an email that looked like it was from BT, saying they were sorry I was leaving and giving me a number to ring. I decided to check with BT through their live chat, and it turns out the email was legit. I’m not planning to switch providers though. The email said something along the lines of being sorry I’m thinking of transferring my home phone and broadband and that if I had any concerns, to call 0800 085 1756 before 2pm on 11th Feb 2025. If I don’t get in touch, the services will automatically switch on 13th Feb 2025.BT2 yearsGot an email supposedly from British Telecom telling me to ring this number or else I'll lose my landline. The message was pretty believable, saying something like "We're sorry to see you're considering switching your phone line. If you've got any questions or want to discuss it, give us a call on 0800 085 1756 by 2PM on 23-Oct-2024. If we don't get in touch, your service will switch automatically on 25-Oct-2024."
