So ive been getting texts from some random number about inappropriate videos ive never signed up for or anything and now my phone bill got an extra £6 or £7 from it. Ive blocked the number but still really annoyed I got charged for stuff I never agreed to. Not happy at all with this!

I’ve got an O2 dongle with a sim card solely for internet on my computer. The O2 connection manager popped up and showed a missed call from 448000843518, but I just ignored it.

I reckon this number is from some cold calling firm just trying to push their own stuff. I don’t recognise it at all, so I just ignore whenever it rings. Yesterday it buzzed around 7, and today it was just before half seven in the evening. Feels like this is about the fifth time in the past month that this unknown number has called me.

Had this number ring me up three times - twice yesterday and once today. Pretty sure it’s one of those cold call firms because I used to work in similar places before. They get your digits because the system just fires out random numbers until it hits a live line. These folks are usually on commission and under heaps of pressure to make plenty of sales, or they get the sack. If you don’t bite, they can get quite nasty and end up passing your details around the team, so you end up getting calls from different people at the same company. I’ve just ignored all the calls, cos I’m guessing eventually they’ll tire of having a dead number and give up. No more bother from them now.

I got a call on my mobile from someone saying they were from my network provider. When I asked who they were, they started being rude straight away. They tried to get my bank info and got really aggressive when I told them I wasn’t giving anything. There’s no option on my phone to block these calls and my provider won’t do anything to help either. Really frustrating!

So today I had a call, someone claimed they were calling from O2 and offering a plan for £13.99 a month. I stupidly gave them my info without stopping to think. At first, O2 confirmed it was their sales team, so I felt okay about it. But then I called O2 again later because I never got any confirmation email, and that's when they told me the number wasn’t connected to them at all! I’m proper stressed now, don’t know what to do next. O2 really didn’t help much with this situation :(

Just let whoever rings or the call centre know you’re on the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) and they’re meant to take your number off their list. You could still receive calls from other places though, but make sure you tell each of them as well.

Someone kept ringing up my partner nonstop, asking for his banking info which really spooked him - total scam I reckon. He checked his records and mentioned his girlfriend had a pay-as-you-go SIM too. Then the caller asked, "How do you know you’ve got a girlfriend?" He got all flustered after that. Got a call from this number the other day, a young bloke speaking with a London/Pakistani accent, said he was ringing from EE. I said I wasn’t interested straight away, but he insisted he wasn’t trying to sell me anything. Then he asked if I was with O2, and I said yes. After that, he just told me to "do one" and hung up. Reading the comments here, sounds like it might be a scam to try and grab your bank details. The number’s already been reported to the police, so if anyone else gets a call from it, I’d say do the same.

I’ve saved the number in my phone under "Spam". It’s a bit worrying how they even got my number - I have a hunch it might be from an eBay seller but I’m not really sure.

Got a call on my phone (EE contract) earlier today at work from someone saying they were EE. When they mentioned the call was being recorded for training, I told them to ring me back after 6pm when I’d be home. As soon as I said that, they just hung up straight away!

Just got a call from this number, and the guy claimed he was with EE - you know, the one that owns Orange and T Mobile. He was trying to pitch me a 12-month mobile deal for £11.99 a month. When I said I wasn’t interested, he got really rude and said he’d just try selling it to someone else, then hung up straight away. Typical waste of time. Guess I’m adding another number to my block list, using the block contact feature on my phone.
