They phoned me about my subscription to The Week Junior and offered a free trial of The Week. Seemed alright at first, but then they asked for my bank details and said they couldn’t go ahead without them. At the start, they mentioned I wouldn’t have to do anything and that they’d just send six weeks free, but then said I’d have to call or email to stop it afterwards. Bit confusing really.

Somebody from Dennis Publishing called askin if I was a certain person and if I'd got one of their mags before, then offered another. I told her I wasn't interested and she ended the call pretty quick. I reckon she wasn’t pleased cos I didn’t confirm if I was the person she was looking for. Just a heads up, if it's that Dennis Publishing lot, a few months back they tried to set up a direct debit from my bank without me properly knowing. I said no to the DD and gave them a call to sort it out. Didn't know it was them till I looked up the number though - they use quite a few different 0800 numbers. Definitely worth watching your bank statements closely!
