Don't bother calling, it's a scam for sure.

a really loud beeping came on warning me not to shut down my computer and told me to ring this number. somehow, i ended up letting a bloke with an indian accent get into my pc. he claimed there were loads of viruses and even showed me a list of transactions. just as he was gonna ask for cash to install some fix, i hung up and rebooted my computer. everything seems fine now, but i’m still pretty jittery thinking he might still be snooping about somewhere :/

I received a pop-up notification regarding a security alert, and this number was displayed.

Got a dodgy message pretending to be from Vodafone, saying there was a problem and I shouldn’t turn off my computer before ringing their number. I just restarted the PC and the error disappeared. Did a full scan afterwards, and thankfully no viruses or anything nasty showed up.

Got a message saying my personal info was at risk and to call this number right away. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it!

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT and Microsoft. I asked him to give me my BT account number to prove it was legit. He said he couldn't check because he gets loads of error calls daily. I told him it sounded like a scam and hung up. After restarting my computer, everything seems to be working fine now.

got a call from 0800 058 8226 saying sky spotted weird activity on my ip. there was no official sky or microsoft logos anywhere in the message, felt dodgy straight away. they told me not to shut down my pc or I could lose data, also said my bank details were in danger. to make things worse, the computer started beeping loudly like some kind of horror film. seemed like a complete scam to me, and i reckon calling that 0800 number would have been expensive. so i just restarted my pc and now everything’s back to normal.
