10 yearsGot a call this morning at 8.25 from an Asian guy named Michael, totally ruined my chance for a lie-in! He claimed to be from Microsoft, saying my computer had error alerts. I mentioned I often get similar calls from TalkTalk and BT, then asked for his number to call back. Surprisingly, he gave me 08000588174, said it was a UK number based in Bradford. Usually they just hang up straight away. No way I'm calling back, but seriously, why aren’t these scammers just stopped? It’s so frustrating!MichaelMicrosoftTalkTalkBTUKBradford10 yearsI received a rather puzzling phone call from a woman with an Indian accent, but the connection was dreadful, making it impossible to catch what she was saying. Shortly after that, a gentleman with a similar accent rang up, claiming to be from the Windows Technical Department. He insisted that my computer was infected and offered to fix it remotely. I was quite sceptical about the legitimacy of the call, so I told him I would need to verify their number. He provided me with 0800 0588174 to reach back. I’m completely convinced this was a scam, so I decided against making the call.Windows Technical Department11 yearssomebody calling 'rosy' claiming to be from windows support rang me, sounded like she was in india and her accent was pretty hard to follow. she said my computer was infected and needed a technician to connect remotely to fix it. i asked for some ID and proof but then looked up the number and found out it’s a known scam where they try to fool lots of folks just to get access and steal cash. dont fall for it, deny them access and report it straight away.RosyIndia11 yearsToday I got a call from someone who said his name was Joseph Williams. It seemed a bit odd though, cos he had a pretty thick Indian accent which didn’t really match the name. He gave me this phone number as his contact. I told him I suspected it was a scam, but he kept pushing. Eventually, I just kept giving vague answers to stall him. At one point, he mentioned some fake address on Edmund Street for the company he was supposedly from. After messing about for about five minutes, he finally gave up and hung up.Joseph WilliamsEdmund Street11 yearsBEWARE - they've claimed to be engineers from Microsoft, supposedly contacting me about some error alerts reported from my computer.Microsoft12 yearsI recently got a phone call from this number, which seems to be a scam.
