Back in December 2025, I got a call from 0800 0584340 claiming to be Santander’s fraud team. They said a big sum was about to be withdrawn from our bank. It felt like they wanted us to transfer money to some so-called ‘safe’ account. They sounded really believable and seemed to know loads of our personal info. Even when we’d phoned Santander ourselves on a separate line, they kept pushing their story. Proper scary experience, so watch out for this one!

In December 2025, I received a phone call from 0800 0584340 claiming to be HSBC's fraud prevention team. Weirdly, they never asked me any security questions at all. Definitely a dodgy scam call if you ask me.

Got a call saying theywere from Royal Bank of Scotland, and somehow £200 was taken outta my account. The weird part is, I dont have an account with RBS at all. I questioned them a bit and then just ended the call.

Someone called saying they were from a bank but never told me which one. They said someone was trying to withdraw £200 from my account. Then, just as they gave me a 'reference number' to check with my bank, the line got cut off.

Just yesterday I got an email that looked really legit from PayPal. It was supposedly from someone called Evelyn Arriaza, claiming I’d paid £579.99 GBP with a transaction ID included. So, I got worried and rang up PayPal. Turns out, that transaction ID wasn’t real at all. Apparently, there was a payment in play, but luckily I managed to cancel it in time. The message said something like ‘This request has been cancelled. It’ll show up in your completed transactions shortly.’ Quite the scare!

I received an email claiming I’d paid £579.79 through PayPal, so naturally I logged in and tried to cancel it. But then I made the mistake of ringing the phone number listed in that transaction! Luckily, my daughter noticed it looked off and told me to hang up. I rang PayPal using their official number instead, and thankfully everything got fixed. I guess when you panic, you don’t think clearly. Please, be careful and don’t be as daft as I was - these scammers are really nasty and it could end up costing you big time. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about these awful crooks!

Got this message from someone named Evelyn Arriaza saying I’d already sent £579.99 to AVAST ONE. The text looked something like this: > Evelyn Arriaza > 19 December 2022 · Cancelled - Request received - £579.99 GBP > Request received from Evelyn Arriaza > Transaction ID: A-X0X0X0X0X0X0X0X0X > Note > You’ve Sent a Payment of £579.99 GBP to AVAST ONE. > If This Transaction Is Unauthorized Contact Our Customer Support @ +44 800 058 4350 > Details > Money request amount £xxx.xx GBP > Total £XXX.XX GBP Definitely one of those cheeky scams, a bit more polished than your usual nonsense though.

If you get a dodgy payment alert saying it’s from Paypal but you didn’t authorise it, they’re telling people to ring this number. I obviously gave it a miss.
