This number has popped up a few times lately, rang me thrice in just a few months. No idea who they are, so I just went ahead and blocked them anyway.

Some bloke rang me asking for John, but I told him no one here by that name. He quickly apologised and said he must have dialled the wrong number.

Got a call three times today from this number, all between around 11 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. Didn’t pick up the first one, the second time I answered and they just cut off straight away, then the third call only rang once before they dropped it. Strange behaviour.
