8 yearsI received a call from this particular number, and they appeared to know an alarming amount of personal information about me, such as my banking details and home address. They claimed to represent the call preference centre and insisted that I provide my debit card's security number to confirm my identity. Given that I’m inundated with these sorts of calls, despite being on the registry, I chose to stay on the line. However, as the conversation progressed, the caller became increasingly insistent and rather aggressive. Clearly, this was a scam attempt.9 yearsI attempted to persuade my elderly neighbours into sharing their debit card information, as someone claimed to be from BT, stating they were renewing a call barring service.
