When I asked who they were, they said it was Microsoft. Not wanting to risk anything, I granted them access to my laptop to let them explain the issue. They showed me what they claimed was wrong, then offered to fix it and install antivirus software for £64. I said no, and they didn’t push the sale any further, which was a bit surprising.
