They focused particularly on my life insurance with Aviva, and when I pressed for details, the individual asserted connections with Aviva, Legal & General, AIG, and others but was evasive about their actual employer - only insisting it was on behalf of the FCA. They repeatedly mentioned something about being part of the Enhancement Department but failed to specify which company they represented. I was cautious and withheld my personal details as they probed about my life cover, asking about the sum insured, my monthly premium, and even quoted a fraudulent policy number. They asserted that my current policy would cease to provide coverage once I hit 65 - I’m 76, mind you! After I pointed this out, they claimed they could extend my coverage to over 90 for an increased fee of £35 per month. Strangely, they assured me that I would maintain full coverage beyond that age for free. I kept them engaged in conversation and requested written details of their offer, but they insisted they needed to connect me with a Quote Handler instead. I remained curious and prolonged the exchange, keeping the chap talking for over 20 minutes. Eventually, he abruptly claimed we had spent enough time discussing it and ended the call politely. I suspect he realised he wouldn't profit from this interaction, so the call was curtailed.
