Many found the letters suspicious as the scheme ended years ago and the companyโ€™s contact details are vague or missing. I got a letter dated July 2025 sent to the house owner but with my exact address on it. It talks about swapping out the current 250w solar panels for 450w ones, and says there's a £4000 grant available. I looked it up on Google and everything I found says there aren’t any grants like that right now. Sounds like I’d probably need a new inverter too, so I’m a bit cautious about getting in touch with these people.

I found a leaflet pushed through my letterbox with no company name or contact details on it. It claims that you can get a grant from the Green Homes Scheme and asks you to scan a QR code. Just so you know, there isn’t any government grant for panel replacement like that. The phone number printed on the leaflet matches this one.

So, I was checking out the GOV.UK site and it looks like the Green Homes Scheme has been stopped. Just a heads up, this might be a scam going around!

I haven’t had a phone call from them but did get a letter that seemed quite legit. It says I can get a free upgrade on my solar panels and mentions the government’s green homes scheme. They included a number to call them on.

Beware of this 0800 number claiming to be the Green Home Scheme promising £4000 grants. The government actually scrapped this scheme back in 2021, so it's just not legit.
