Got a call from someone claiming I owed money, which is totally untrue.

Someone called about a washing machine cover. I pretended to have dementia but this dodgy caller still tried pushing me to buy and even tried to set up a direct debit straight away, even after I kept saying I had serious issues. Found it funny at first but then it turned a bit aggressive.

Got a call about insuring my washing machine, they dropped the price from a hundred quid a month down to just six!

Got a call from an Asian guy named Charlie, who said my warranty needed an update and gave me a number to call if my washing machine broke down. He tried to sound legit, saying he’d send some paperwork through. But my washer’s well over 8 years old, so the warranty definitely expired ages ago. He rang me from 01273961850 and gave me another number as a backup too.

Got a call about my fridge and freezer, they asked me to confirm the brand, so I purposely gave a different one. Then they started asking for my bank info, I said I’ve changed it, and she asked for the updated details. When I said I never share that stuff over the phone, she tried saying she could set up a new direct debit anyway. Yeah right, that’s basically asking for bank details on the phone! She gave her name as Leuca and told me to call her back on this number. Total SCAM, watch out everyone!!!!

0800 023 6178 - TOTAL SCAM. They called my wife asking about the brand of our oven, which we supposedly had insurance on. Said the policy was due for renewal and that they should already have that info. Then they tried to get her to give some missing digits to "update" her bank details. Obviously, she just hung up. These scammers need to be tracked down and locked up for good!!!

I wasn’t home when the call came through. My wife, who recently had a stroke and was a bit disoriented, picked up and ended up giving them her bank info out of panic. They claimed our washing machine’s insurance was about to expire and needed renewing. We actually already pay a way cheaper insurance to a different company. Even though she mentioned this, they kept pushing her, insisting their offer was the best one. They wanted £19.99 a month for a machine that cost us just £350. Honestly feel like we’ve been ripped off.

Someone called me asking for bank details to extend the warranty on a washer I don’t even have. Then the bloke started arguing and talking over me, insisting I was daft for not getting a warranty on my ‘Whirlwind’ washer - which is actually a Siemens. He even told me I was stupid and should just listen, claiming he’d save me money. I told him flat out I knew it was a scam, and he just laughed, saying it was worth a shot. Honestly, I was stunned at how cheeky he was.

Beware of these dodgy cold callers saying they want to sign you up for a washing machine service plan. They’re just trying to get your bank info. Don’t ever hand that over to strangers on the phone. You’ll end up losing your cash!

Got a call from someone called Sean claiming to be from Homeshield, trying to talk about a warranty for my washing machine. He gave me a freephone number and an extension to prove he was legit, but he didn’t know anything about my machine or that it’s actually 8 years old and no longer under warranty (which I never told him). It was pretty obvious he was fishing for my bank details, then he suggested setting up a direct debit as some kind of guarantee because I wouldn’t share my financial info. Felt like a typical cold sales pitch. Had an English accent too.

Got a call from 08000236178 about some washing machine cover. My wife got tricked a bit because they already had her name, mobile and address. After chatting for a few minutes, they started asking about payment. First thing, they wanted her credit card number (she refused). Then they asked how she’d pay and suggested bank transfer - also no. Then they asked again for the 16 digit card number. What do these people think we are, robots or what? Absolutely NO WAY we gave anything away. This is total SCAMM!!! Number to watch out for is 01273 936305.

Totally dodgy! They tried to get my dad to pay for a washing machine insurance he never signed up for. Never, ever share your card details on a call. Legit companies don’t ask for stuff like that on the phone, so watch out for these cheeky scammers!

Don’t really get why people are mad, I accidentally ended up with three policies from D&G, Knowhow and Homeshield Direct. Then Sean called me saying my Homeshield payment didn’t go through. Turns out they cut my bill by £90 a year and cover basically the same stuff for my washing machine. If you ring Homeshield, ask for Sean - he kept chatting about his goal to be a rock star. Good luck to him!

Just had a ring from someone called homeshield. I’m pretty clued up, so didn’t fall for their nonsense. Seriously, don’t ever hand over your bank details to anyone who rings you, even if they claim it’s about your council tax. The council always writes to you, they don’t phone.

Got a call to my elderly dad saying his washing machine and fridge freezer insurance was up. He’s a bit muddled and ended up paying £258 twice for a fake 3 year plan via his visa card!! All the money is gone, and the paperwork looks dodgy with no proper address. It’s awful how they target a vulnerable 94 year old man like that. Now he’s stuck with double insurance on loads of appliances. Hope those scammers get found and put behind bars soon.

Some scumbag tricked my mum, who has dementia, into paying for a washing machine warranty she doesn’t even own. Absolute rubbish people, no shame at all!!!

Someone tried to sell my mum, who suffers from Alzheimers, a warranty. Luckily for us, four other businesses with similar names had already contacted her, so the bank spotted it straight away. Sadly, my mum has been caught out by these scams to the tune of about £700 over the past year. None of these companies ever gave any paperwork, like policy documents or contact details - just took the money right from her bank account. Names to watch out for include Domestic Protect, Payment Solutions, Repair and Assure, BTG Home Solutions, and Home Shield Direct - all scammers in my experience.

Got a call about insurance for my washing machine and went ahead with it, gave them my card info. Later on, I remembered I already had coverage with Know How. Rang them back and they sorted it out, gave my money back with no hassle. Proper genuine firm.

Cant remember the callers name or his manager (I had just got up), but the first person passed me to his manager who kept going on about how safe it was to share card details over the phone. I quickly said no to the warranty insurance for my washing machine from their firm. This number is meant to be for the engineer coming to fix my machine, so I wanted to keep it safe! Maybe the number is legit, but there’s no way I’m giving card info to any cold callers!

Got a cold call asking about my washing machine. I said yeah, I still own it. They didn’t have my email or account info when I refused to give bank details for some extended warranty. I told them they could just email or send me the offer by post. The guy said I could talk to his manager but I said no thanks. Told them again to send info by email or post, then ended the call.

HomeShield Direct Ltd seems to be a legit firm that provides extended warranties for household gadgets. I arranged a 3-year cover through a polite chap named Mark, if memory serves. I paid in 12 monthly instalments, each £19 via direct debit, which covers me for the full term. So far, I’m pretty happy with how things have gone.

I had a chat with these scammers claiming to sell a Bosch washing machine I never owned. I think the bloke was Ross Denham, some so-called supervisor, telling bare-faced lies. A couple days before, I got a call from India about surveys, clearly fishing for info, all of which I made up. Then these guys ring back trying to charge me £228 for something I don’t even have. This sort of company deserves to be shut down, honestly.

Total rip-off - completely deceptive - avoid at all costs, they dont give a toss about you or your device, just lining their own pockets - probably against the law.

Its not a scam or anything, just a firm offering extended warranties once the manufacturer’s guarantee runs out. Loads of companies do this, its completely legal, and this one actually has decent prices. I know someone who has their coverage through them!

These lot are total scam artists doing cold calls - they get all their info from data brokers, then ring you up with dodgy lines aiming to rip you off without offering anything worthwhile. They even chuck bogus reviews on their site to cover their tracks. I actually worked there, so I’m well aware of their tricks. The sales manager, a bloke called Matt, is one of the worst in the game. Honestly, don’t fall for their nonsense and just say no straight away.

my dad's got heart issues and recently had a kidney infection. when he was feeling pretty rough, he somehow ended up agreeing to some insurance for a washing machine he doesn’t even use, since he sends his laundry out. when i asked to get back the £228 charged to his debit card, they wanted his sort code and account number. they might be legit, but their methods seem a bit sketchy to me. at the moment i’m still trying to get that refund, no luck so far.

This number called me quite a few times and I finally decided to answer just to see what it was about. Turns out, they told me my washing machine wasn’t under warranty anymore and offered to extend it for another 3 years. Since my machine’s already about 6 years old, I figured why not and accepted. They sent all the paperwork over 3 days after. So far, no issues with them at all.

I got a call out of nowhere around 11 in the morning, just as I was dozing off really heavily. The person on the other end was trying to say I had to renew my washing machine insurance. Now, I’m 70 and have epilepsy, so I was almost about to give them loads of personal info. Luckily, I recalled I already have insurance with another company and said so, then they just cut the call. It left me feeling uneasy all day. I keep wondering how on earth they got hold of my name and details.

I had a rather pleasant conversation with a gentleman named Mark who rang us up, presenting an option for an extended warranty on our Bosch washing machine. I was taken aback that they already had our information, but everything seemed legitimate upon verification. He proposed a fixed monthly fee of £8, and considering I was shelling out £14 monthly with Domestic and General, I decided to make the switch. It's been a real money-saver - I've managed to save £72 annually! I’d definitely recommend giving them a try.
