Someone called claiming to be from HSBC, had my full name, postcode and dob. I ended the call and rang HSBC directly, they told me it was definitely a scam.

FRAUD ALERT - Someone pretending to be from First Direct (which I actually use). They asked me to confirm the day I was born and I said yes. Then they wanted me to say the month and year too. I told them I’d only say yes or no, anything else would mean I’m giving them my full DOB, not just confirming it. They then said since I seem uneasy, they’ll make a note on their system but I NEED to call back urgently. Who believes this nonsense?! BLOCKED immediately.

My phone blocked the first call, labelling it as spam, but somehow it still went through to voicemail, although no message was left. Then about an hour later, the same number got past my spam filter again. I picked up and a man asked for me by name. He mentioned a company, something like One Stop Funeral Care. I said it wasn’t a good time since I was working. He wasn’t pushy or rude, just said goodbye. I blocked the number right after anyway.

prepaid funeral plan - they shouldnt have my number at all so how on earth did they manage to get it??? its really bad timing as ive just been through a few close losses and the last one gave me proper PTSD and that’s when they start blasting calls. they dont help at all. ive blocked them loads of times but they ring from different numbers. i reckon its just plain harassment!!

This is absolutely outrageous! This kind of behaviour needs to be brought to an end! A bunch of chancers pretending to be from Long Life Funerals tried to peddle a funeral scheme to me.
