On Monday, the 30th of November, a fake Apple warning popped up on my laptop. I called 08000 016 3909, thinking it was legit, but turns out it was a total scam from "easytechy". Ended up paying £169.99 to supposedly wipe my data. Feel so daft now. Luckily, I found a way to look up numbers like that, although it was already too late for me. Definitely gonna use this service again to avoid getting caught out next time.
