They said there was some dodgy stuff going on with my account and that it’s been locked now.

The number is definitely from VERY.COM, it's not fake. But VERY have said that this number might have been compromised because they've noticed a lot of their calls either being blocked or ignored, and some customers, like myself, ended up missing their call and then found all these warnings when they searched the number. I found out about this because after they couldn't get through the first time, VERY called me back on a different line (0344 822 4650). I asked them a few questions to make sure they could see my secure account details, so I felt confident it was a real call in the end.

Got an email telling me to ring this number because my account's been locked for dodgy activity. Thing is, that account hasn't been touched in like 20 years... total scam, obviously.

I got a letter, supposed to be from Littlewoods, saying I need to call them to stop some kind of fraud. Apparently, someone tried to set up an account using my details, so they asked me to ring this number.

Got a letter from Very claiming that someone might be pretending to be me, using my details somehow. Problem is, I don’t even have an account with them and never rang that number. Feels dodgy to me. Would avoid using this number, honestly.

This number rang me up, it was Very checking on something I supposedly bought.

Got a letter through the post from some Account Protection crew at Littlewoods. I don't even have an account with them! The letter mentioned an account number and a CIFAS reference, asking me to ring them up and prove it's really me who opened this supposed Littlewoods account. Quite odd, if you ask me.

A few days after getting a parcel we hadn’t asked for, we got a letter with that number on it. The letter said we might be caught up in some kind of fraud and told us to ring them. We called, and they organised for the parcel to be picked up. It all seems pretty dodgy to me, like a trick to grab items ordered fraudulently from unsuspecting folks.

I received a phone call from someone inquiring if I had made any recent online purchases and requesting my order information. I told him that he needed to verify his identity, as he never stated his name or the company he represented. I insisted that he needed to speak to his supervisor at the call centre because I had no trust in what he was claiming. There was absolutely no chance that I would share any personal information with him.

Received an odd letter from Very.co.uk claiming we've ordered a pink pram? Absolutely baffled by it all! What's more, they've sent an invoice for nearly £300, which we’ve never had any prior dealings with. When we called their number, they directed us to ring 08000151290. I’m still waiting to see what happens next. Honestly, not thrilled about this entire situation!

Received three letters in the post earlier today claiming that an account has been opened in our name. However, we haven’t initiated any such account! The number provided, 0800 0151290, was supposedly the customer services team directing us to their scam department. It’s quite concerning to discover that someone in London has gone ahead and set up an account using our details, along with a hefty order totalling £300! Absolutely furious about this!

We dialled up Very.co.uk, utilising their customer support hotline found on their website, to inquire about the contact number for their Identity Theft division. The advisor we spoke to furnished us with the same number we sought. We've now filed our details with this department, which will subsequently record our information on the CIFAS database, allowing other lenders to access it. Should anyone seek credit in our name, we will receive a call to verify that we indeed made such an application.

I recently received a letter from Great Universal regarding an application we never submitted. The correspondence asked us to contact them at 0844 822 4650. Strangely enough, they also mentioned that someone had placed an order for a laptop in our name! They urged us to ring 0800 822 4650 for more details. Quite baffling, to say the least, as we haven't set up any account with them.

I haven't received a phone call, but a letter arrived claiming to be from Kays, stating that an account has been opened in our name and advising us to contact 08000151290. After seeing the comments above, I'm wondering if this is just another scheme to entice customers, much like the Choice situation, or if there's something genuine to it. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!

Recently, we received some correspondence supposedly from the Littlewoods scam investigation unit, with a message from someone named Linda Swift. They claimed that there was an attempt to set up an account under our name, urging us to contact them for identity verification. We've got a strong hunch this could be a scam, but I’m curious if anyone else has encountered something similar? The letter seemed to be on official Littlewoods stationery, but we all know how simple it is to forge those sorts of documents.

Hi Stuart, I just received a letter that looks remarkably similar to the one you got, claiming to be from Additions Direct and urging us to get in touch with them. It even had their letterhead!
