Got this rubbish message about being charged but I’ve never signed up for anything with these lot. I really don’t think they can actually take any money from me. I didn’t reply with STOP either, cos I reckon that’s exactly how they trap you. Had a look at my bank, PayPal and phone bill and there was nothing at all, so to me it’s just a load of nonsense.

For the past two months, I've been getting messages from Kinky mobile every single week, but I've never bothered to open any of them. Each week they've been taking £3 from my account, so that’s £24 in total. I rang their 0800 number to complain and they said they’d check about refunding me the money. Today I got a text from Kinymobile about some subscription I never signed up for. I replied with ‘Stop’ but not sure if that’ll do anything or if it’s just another trick. Can anyone tell me if this is legit or just another scam?

I couldn’t reach anyone on the phone number given, so I ended up contacting my mobile network, Three. They were great and managed to track down a contact number online to phone them directly. They went ahead and blocked the number from calling me ever again. The person I spoke to at Three was really helpful.

Rang their customer support at 01223590555, hit option 2 to speak with someone. They promised a refund straight away, so just waiting on the cheque to arrive now.

Received a text with a link to some website, so I rang the support number. A lady answered and claimed I’d signed up for a subscription through a download, probably one of those dodgy Facebook spam things. She mentioned I’d been charged £3 and offered a refund either by cheque or PayPal. I chose PayPal since I wasn’t about to give away my address. It’s now Saturday, and she said the refund would be processed by the finance team come Monday. We’ll see how that goes! I managed to record the call and asked for the company’s full name and address. They said they’re located in Manchester. If they don’t follow through, I’m planning on getting in touch with Trading Standards.
