I never agreed to this, and after checking numerous online reviews, it looks like replying ‘stop’ doesn’t seem to put an end to it. Yesterday, I got a txt saying I was signed up to some hot4sexybabes thing that charges £3 a week unless I txt stop to 85875. I’m 34 and female, and never signed up for any of this. Looked at my phone bill and found out they’d taken an extra £27 for these weekly charges. Because of this, my phone bill went up more than usual, and I didn’t have enough in my bank to cover my direct debits, so the bank hit me with double fees for bounced payments. Really frustrating!

It all sounded a bit fishy to me, so I’m not planning to ring back. Got a couple of messages sent to my 13 year old daughter in Thailand, she barely understands english, about something to do with "Babes" subscriptions. I ended up having to ring them from here in Thailand to explain our phones are actually UK issued because I’m unable to use any local networks where I’m working for security reasons. On Sunday 8th June 2014, I got a strange text saying I'd signed up for something called hot babes, of all things! They said it'd cost me £3 a week. I rang them straight away and spoke to an Asian bloke who assured me the subscription would be cancelled and I wouldn't be charged. Then, Monday morning, I got a call from 08000148873 asking for my address so they could supposedly send me a cheque for £18 as they apparently took the money from my phone provider. I'm not exactly holding my breath for that cheque to arrive, but I’m determined to dig into this and get some answers. I work for customs and excise, so I have more resources than most to track these dodgy types down.
