Really weird situation here. I got a call late at night from this number saying they were from NatWest, but when I called the real NatWest number, they said to ring back in the morning. Around the same time, I got a dodgy text pretending to be NatWest too, sent from an 07 number. Honestly, don't answer if this number rings you. Better to use the number on the back of your bank card to be safe.

I’ve had three calls from what sounded like Nat West, the latest being yesterday at about 9.08 in the morning. Each time, there was an automated voice saying something about suspicious activity on my account and to press 1 for more details, but then it just cut off. On Friday 14th November 2024, I fell victim to a scam involving a call from that exact number. Turns out it’s supposedly NatWest’s Fraud Team contact, but scammers managed to spoof it. If you bank with NatWest and receive a call claiming to be from their Fraud Team or that number, just hang up and ring NatWest directly using their official switchboard to verify. I live in London E1 and the call came through on my mobile phone. What worried me most was that they already knew some details about my debit card, so they clearly had done their homework.

So, it's the NW Fraud Team here. Yesterday, a payment I tried to make got flagged for fraud and was blocked. Then I noticed loads of other charges trying to go through linked to that same payment. I had to cancel my old card right away and they’re sending me a new one now. The bank has already confirmed the replacement card is being issued. And just to be clear, it definitely wasn’t anyone from abroad.
