I got a call from a number that claimed to be Thames Water about some unpaid bill. I went straight to my Thames Water online account to see if the amount they mentioned was actually what I owed, and it was spot on. To anyone seeing this, please be careful - this is a scam pretending to be Thame Water or something alike. My advice is to block this number straight away on your phone. It’s all a sales trick. If you answer, they’ll pressure you into signing up for something, no matter what water company they claim to be. If it says Thame Water, just ignore the call and ring your actual water supplier instead. They’re now using an 0800 number, so don’t trust it. If you’re unsure, always contact your real water company first. Don’t fall for this scam!

They’re reaching out to both past and present customers trying to collect any outstanding bills. I posted a comment a few hours back, just adding some more details now. I checked an old and closed Thames Water account and found there was actually a new bill sent out, a final one, and the amount was higher than the regular payments before the account closed. So yeah, there was a small debt Thames Water wanted to recover. They couldn’t take it by direct debit since that had already been cancelled. I rang the number and the amount they said I owed was the same as on the final bill. I paid through their automated system, and they gave me a payment reference during the call.

Got a call from this number and my phone showed it as Thames Water. I'm pretty sure they set up a dodgy Google search to make it look like that. Definitely scammers! Just a heads up, some Android apps might say it’s Thames Water but don’t trust that, it’s not legit.

Some bloke called claiming to be from Thames Water saying I owed them money cause my direct debit didn’t clear. I told him I’m not even with that water firm and he just ended the call. Def a scam. Also those green calls listed here are dodgy too, that number ain’t on Thames Water’s site nowhere. Proper blocked it.

I’m noticing a few green comments here that seem a bit fishy. Like, why would someone come to a site that’s mostly for people who’ve had dodgy calls, and then start backing the number up? Makes me think someone with a reason to protect a shady phone number is sneaking in to try and cover it up...

Got a call from 0800 009 3815 claiming to be Thames Water. When I asked what the call was about, the guy just hung up on me.

I tried 0800 009 3815 and it aint listed on Thames Water's site, but if you’re dealing with debt, the real number to call is 0800 009 3652.

0800 099 3815 Usually, when I get a call from an unknown number, I just ignore it and check it out on this site. But people are getting it wrong about this one - it’s not a scam, it’s actually Thames Water’s debt recovery line. If folks say the caller has their info, it’s because it’s an official Thames Water number. Seeing all these comments branding it as a scam is making me question the accuracy of the reviews here. I’m not sure I’ll be relying on the feedback I find here anymore.

0800 009 3815 Just search it on Google and you’ll see it’s Thames Water, so I don’t get why loads of folks here say it’s a scam. Most of us use this site to check numbers we don’t recognise, but plenty of comments are just wrong. THIS NUMBER IS REAL, it’s Thames Water’s debt collection line.
