At about 12:15 in the afternoon on 16 April 2021, my mobile buzzed with a call from a number I didn’t recognise: 080000496250. I just ignored it, thinking it was likely another scam call trying its luck.

Got a cold call from Phone Warehouse today, totally unsolicited telemarketing. Pretty annoying, I wasn’t expecting it at all.

They said it was Carphone Warehouse, but I just hung up right away.

They rang me up three times from Carphone Warehouse, trying to flog me a phone. Total scam, I’m telling you. I just hung up after asking if there was any payment due straight away, and the guy says they need my card details for a credit check. Absolutely not! How’s that even allowed? If it was the other way around, they’d be fuming. These lot should be stopped and made to face the music, no scruples at all.

I missed the call and there wasn’t any voicemail, so I’m guessing it was probably from a call centre.
