Got a text about being "owed cash for mis-sold car finance," saying it’s a CLAIM PCP thing. They send a link where they want you to put more of your details in, basically just checking stuff they already know. The message finishes with “Text EXIT to 88440”. Best thing is to forward those messages to 7726. Don’t click on the link or reply asking them to stop, coz that just lets them know you’re active.

Got a call on my phone from someone saying they’d been trying to reach me (funny coz they didn’t even know my name) about some money I was supposed to claim (definitely sounds like a scam). They wanted me to click on a link, something like vsms.io/Jrj8/*** (no chance i'd click that). I deleted the message straight away.

This one’s just like the scam I got from 07958879860. Same sort of dodgy call, really annoying.

Just got a call about some student loan thing, sounded fishy to me. They kept pushing about paying off a loan I don’t even have. Definitely a scam trying to catch people out. Watch out if you get a call like this!

Got a message from 07958879850 offering "1000 GBP welcome bonus and 100 free spins for new players" with a link http://cotmo.sbs/upjxAb. Just some spam, so I went ahead and deleted it straight away.

I keep getting messages from this number and a few others, all meant for some Mrs Denise C Cossington. They tell me to click on a link that supposedly belongs to Thames Water. According to the texts, this Mrs Cossington owes loads of money to that company which apparently rakes in huge dividends for overseas investors. Every time I block one number, they just contact me from a new one! Makes me wonder if this Denise is even real?

Got a text from 07958 879850 saying something about my online account being under £1 for 14 days and that it needs topping up or it’ll be closed. It was signed off as Cynergy Bank. Thing is, I have no account with Cynergy, and this is just an old Nokia phone I hardly use. Feels like some kinda trick to get me to call back. No idea what they’re up to, just seems a bit dodgy to me.

Got a text right after midnight saying a parcel couldn’t be delivered and to click a link to reschedule - not expecting anything at all. I don’t have a smartphone, so I typed the link into my computer, and no such page came up. After checking other people’s remarks, it seems this is just a scam to trick you into paying for a fake ‘re-delivery’. Proper cheek, honestly. Phew, I’m glad I did a quick search first!

Got a text saying the local NHS clinic wanted me to book my next Covid jab. Rang the surgery afterwards and they said they had no clue about it and aren’t offering those shots at the moment. Plus, the message came from a dodgy mobile number (07958879850), which really made me suspicious!

Got a text supposedly from EDF saying an installer would be fiting a new meter on 7th March, and asking me to click a link or ring a number to change the date. But the phone number on the message wasn’t an EDF one at all. This seemed pretty legit and could trick a lot of folks - I’ve never seen them do anything like this before, so watch out!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Visa debit about a payment of £999.99, but I don’t even own a Visa card! They said I had to call customer service to sort it out and cancel the charge. Sounds like a proper scam to me.

Got a text on my old phone saying there was a problem with Contactless on my Barclaycard, but it’s been sorted now. They said if I had issues, I just need to do two Chip and PIN payments before Contactless works again. No links in the message, which is good. But honestly, I don’t even use Contactless with my Barclaycard, so this message wasn’t much help to me.

Got a text from this number on 2nd Dec around 7:33am saying "SMS Alert; Hi, I've got loads of messages from you but I don't even know who you are. Sorry for that, can you please tell me?" The message just stopped there. I deleted it straight away, think it might be some kind of scam trying to get info.

Got a message supposedly from Amazon saying there was a login try on my account and to click a link to check it out. I just ignored it since I hadn’t used or bought anything from Amazon in a few weeks. It’s clearly a rip-off. They’ve already sent me three texts all saying the exact same thing. Proper scam if you ask me.

Just got a text from someone saying they were the NHSVaccine, like one of those legit vaccine reminder texts. But the wording felt a bit dodgy, so I rang up my doctor to check things out, and turns out it was a total scam. Definitely not from the NHS!

Got a text from 07958879850 saying my parcel was sent back to the depot after a failed delivery. They told me to go to a website to arrange redelivery, but once I got there, it asked for my full address, postcode, and even my date of birth. Then it said I had to pay £2.10 for the redelivery and wanted my bank details plus credit card info. Definitely a dodgy scam, so watch out folks!

Beware of this really risky scam. I got a couple of texts on my phone pretending to be Royal Mail, saying there’s a parcel on the way from some popular beauty brand and asking me to tap on a link to track it. If you get messages like that, just get rid of them straight away. Don’t let these nasty, dishonest people trick you. Stay safe!

Total con artist this one! He offers TVs for sale, but when you bring them back, they’re just old busted ones. He gets around in a tiny white van and there’s always a young lad with him. Avoid at all costs!

Back in January 2021, I got about five text messages from this number 07958879850 saying they were from Facebook. They kept asking me to put in a 5-digit code from FB or visit some site like fb/me then a string of 15 random letters and numbers. Problem is, I don’t even have a Facebook account! So it was pretty suspicious to me.

I just got a call from some scammers trying to sell TV packages. Turns out they’re just old, busted TVs that are smashed up inside. It was an older bloke and a young lad on the line. Honestly, they seemed like gypsies trying to take advantage of people. Watch out for these dodgy calls!

We got a text on the 27th November from a mobile, but they messed up our name. They wanted us to call other numbers, which I’m gonna check out, though I reckon they’re probably scams too. Had something like this before, so I think it’s just them trying to fish for our personal details.

Got a text that seemed to be from Amazon, and weirdly it used my first name right, which caught me off guard. It claimed I’d won third place in some prize draw and had a link to claim a prize. Complete rubbish, obviously. Calls from this number are shady at best, probably dodgy or even harmful. Stay well clear and don’t fall for it.

Got a text saying my Halifax account is now linked or something, but the weird part was the message came from this different number (07507881274). When I tried looking it up, it actually showed up as 07958879850, which apparently is flagged as risky. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

I got a message saying there was a parcel waiting at some nearby shop, but when I called back (the number was blocked) no shop had it. After ringing several times, a voice kept saying the centre was busy. Also, the text they said would come didn’t even get sent from that same number. Quite fishy if you ask me.

Got a text from 07958879850 saying I had to complete some HMRC form, with a link attached. I didn’t follow the link, instead I looked up the number and loads of people flagged it as spam. If you get a message like this, just ignore it and don’t click any links. Always double check by searching the number because HMRC doesn’t text people like that! Never give out your info or fill in forms from suspicious texts, and if you’re unsure, ring your solicitor or contact HMRC directly to confirm.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, so I just let it go to voicemail. Not sure who it was though, cause someone else was looking at the phone with me, so it might have been a spam call or summat.
