5 monthsGot a text from this number showing some recent purchases and asking me to reply Y or N to verify an ongoing online payment. At the same time, I got another message, supposedly from NatWest, saying to watch out for these kinds of texts. Checking on NatWest’s site, it says they might sometimes send messages from numbers starting with 07. Plus, I had the same authorisation request pop up in my banking app with the identical transactions listed. So, I’m pretty sure it’s genuine. I didn’t reply to the text and just confirmed the payment through the app instead.NatWest7 monthsThey send out texts pretending to be from your bank by faking the bank’s number, and the message points you to reply to a text from that same fake number. It says there were some transactions flagged as fraud and others that actually went through. Later on, they give you a call trying to persuade you to share more info so they can scam your security details. This definitely isn’t the real bank. The person who rang had a British accent. I reckon there’s been some kind of data leak on eBay or possibly from one of the sellers on there.1 yearGot a text around 8:10 on Sunday evening telling me my account was frozen, which really freaked me out. Thought I’d look up the number first, and after seeing some of the reviews, I figured it was a scam. Big thanks to everyone who shares their experiences here. I’ve just ignored the message and plan to let Natwest know about it.Natwest1 yearGot tricked by this number just now, watch out!2 yearsDefinitely a banking fraud attempt.2 yearsIt’s a scam, best not to answer.2 yearsDefinitely a scam, don’t trust these calls.2 yearsGot a text supposedly from RBS saying a payment got declined and gave me this number to call. I knew it was dodgy straight away since RBS usually sends messages only through their banking app, never by text. Classic scam move if you ask me.RBS2 yearsThey always hang up without bothering to leave any sort of message.2 yearsReceived a text notifying me that my card had been blocked due to an unsuccessful attempt at an Apple Pay transaction of £25 at Walmart in Canada. Shortly after, another message popped up asking me to confirm whether I had initiated those transactions, giving the options 'Y' for yes and 'N' for no. Quite curious!AppleWalmartCanada2 yearsI just received a text from "Natwest" indicating that my card has been deactivated and they’re requesting me to confirm some transactions.Natwest3 yearsActing as if I were from NatWest Bank, I’ve come across some dubious transactions appearing on my account. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!Microsoft Store3 yearsGot a text from this number saying some suspicious payment was declined. It mentioned one fake charge and two real ones, asking me to reply YES or NO. Then it claimed my card was blocked, but really it wasn’t at all. Bit dodgy if you ask me.YESNO3 yearsI’ve marked this number as “Risky” since it appears to be linked to RBS. A text popped up saying my card was blocked due to a suspicious payment and that I had to ring them to sort it out. But even their automated “fraud department” left things pretty unclear about what I actually needed to do. Just because a transaction is “recognised” doesn’t mean it’s been given the green light. If I was trying to scam someone, honestly, I’d find it tricky to cook up a trick that creates so much confusion and stress to trick someone freaking out into falling for it!RBS3 yearsReceived a message prompting me to either verify or cancel a reservation at a restaurant through a link.
