07746 829807 tried to scam me. They said they were from Halifax bank and told me someone attempted to use my card. They told me to press 1 if it wasnt me. I never pressed anything. I rang my actual bank and they confirmed it was a scam. Watch out!

Got a call from an Asian bloke saying he’s from CAB, telling me my husband had talked to him that morning and that I supposedly owed £8k. I asked him to repeat where he was calling from, and he said he was ringing for CAB. When I asked about the debt details, he just mumbled and I called him out as a liar. He tried again with two more calls on Saturday but I didn’t pick up.

Earlier, I received a rather concerning call from someone named Jack, claiming to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau's credit investigation unit. He was keen to chat about my supposed unsecured credit. His accent was quite pronounced-sounded possibly African-so I informed him that I have no unsecured credit to discuss. At that point, his tone shifted dramatically and he started demanding to know why I didn't have any! It was clearly a dubious operation, and I don’t take kindly to being spoken to aggressively over the phone, especially by someone with a foreign accent. I firmly told him to take himself elsewhere and that I was terminating the call. I’d recommend to anyone who encounters this sort of nonsense to do the same and block any further attempts. It’s best not to entertain such shifty characters!

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming to be a solicitor backed by CAB. He only called me Mrs Helen, no last name asked. My credit's terrible and getting worse with bailiffs on their way. Total scam. They keep switching up the phone numbers for the same con.

I had a rather familiar encounter, much like what others have mentioned. They’ve started calling themselves the “(something) debt division” now, yet they keep mentioning my so-called ‘overdue monthly dues’. I responded with a firm ‘Absolutely not!’ and ended the call. I've since added their number to my block list.

I’ve just had a rather peculiar phone call from a lady who knew my first name. She claimed to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau and started mentioning some supposed debts I owed. I couldn’t help but chuckle and said “not a chance”. To my surprise, she promptly ended the call. I attempted to redial, but there was no response. A quick search brought me to this site, which verified my suspicions. Take heed, everyone - it’s definitely a scam!

I received a call from this number today and it was quite an unsettling encounter, much like what others have described. When I questioned him with, "Did I request a call from you?" he erupted with hostility, retorting, "How dare you speak to me in that manner? Do you even realise who I am?" Feeling quite put off, I promptly ended the call and made sure to block the number. Clearly, not the most charming cold caller I've ever dealt with!

Someone just called me at my job on this number, sounded foreign and was asking for 'Mr Harry', which is actually my first name. She claimed to be from Citizen's Advice, wanting to discuss my supposed 'debts'. I asked, "What debts?" and she immediately ended the call. I've blocked the number straight away!

I got a ring on my phone at 8.36 in the morning from some bloke claiming to be from Citizens Advice, saying I owed them money. When I asked how he got my info, he just cut me off. Honestly, this kind of call should be banned because if an older person picked up, they might get really stressed or worse. It's a risky call for sure.

About an hour ago, I got a call from this number on my phone. I assumed it was a mate I gave my number to earlier, just checking. I never pick up calls from unknown numbers so I decided to look it up here before emailing my friend. Pleased I did, actually. Unfortunately, I’m not able to block unwanted calls on my phone, but I guess they’d just ring from another number next time anyway. My phone rang, and I picked it up. The caller wanted to confirm if I was speaking to someone named… Well, I replied, “That’s me.” To which he claimed to be from Citizens Advice. Now, I instinctively felt uneasy about the legitimacy of the call and informed him that I had no outstanding debts. I then decided to mention that I would be reporting him, which suddenly ignited a rather unpleasant response from him. He became downright hostile, repeatedly insisting that I couldn’t report him and hurling expletives at me, including some rather crude names. I was taken aback by his outrageous behaviour and promptly ended the call. I’ve received my fair share of nuisance calls, but I must say, this was by far the most appalling experience I’ve encountered. The man had what sounded like a South Indian accent in his English, and I was absolutely livid at his manner of speaking.

At first, they said they were from Citizens Advice, using an English name but spoke with a really strong foreign accent. They claimed I owed unsecured debt, but I told them I didn’t. Then they put me through to some manager bloke who said his mate told him I had debt. I told him again I didn’t, but he kept saying his friend said I did. Eventually, I told him his friend was talking nonsense, and he got annoyed, handing me back. He started acting all threatening, so I just ended the call. Seriously, don’t pick up when these foreign callers ring.

I'm a woman in my fifties and these phone calls come non-stop, sometimes 30 times a single day, from all sorts of different numbers. Honestly, they gotta be stopped. They tell me I owe money for some dental treatment last year and I have to show evidence I don't need to pay. Do they really think everyone is daft? Folks should be aware of these scammers. Got a call today from someone claiming they were with Citizens Advice. I told them it’s strange as I’ve never heard of the CAB phoning people about debts. He then said they weren’t from the CAB, but from the Citizens Advice line. I asked him to explain the difference and why he was ringing from a mobile, then he just hung up on me! I’ve blocked the number and would suggest everyone else does the same.

Just like others, I got two calls from different people saying I owed more than £6,000. When I asked where they got my info from, they couldn't say. One of them even started laughing at me, which was pretty cheeky.

I reckon this caller is the same one everyone else here has mentioned! They rang me once yesterday and again this morning. I’m pretty sure everyone here agrees they’re a waste of time and the number ought to be blocked straight away once a complaint is filed. Seems like a total scam to me. People should make a living properly, not by pulling tricks like this!

Someone phoned me saying I’m behind on payments and need to pay in instalments, claiming they could assist. When I said I don’t owe anything and only use my own cash, they didn’t take it well. They just curtly ended the call without even saying sorry for the bother.
