FIRST THING TO DO IS USE THE BANK'S APP TO DOUBLE CHECK. I used the First Direct app and it told me the phone number they use to send texts when a debit card payment is declined is this one. I got a call from someone acting like they were from the fire department, but it was totally a scam.

Got a call and a text from them today, saying there was a suspicious attempt to use my card. They asked me to send a six-digit code they claimed was needed to verify something. Apparently, someone was trying to set up a Google Pay account in my name, which I don’t even use. I quickly blocked my card on the banking app and rang the bank as soon as I was back home. The bank told me it was a scam and cancelled my cards for safety. Be careful out there, folks!

Got a call from 07860047721 claiming to be from First Direct’s fraud team. They asked if I’d authorised a £399 transaction on my card, even had the last 4 digits and knew my mobile number, which made it sound quite convincing. I told them I hadn’t made that purchase, and they said they needed to cancel my card straight away. Then they asked me for a 6-digit code that my real bank sent to my phone. I soon realised this was a trick to get past two-factor authentication, so I simply ended the call without giving anything away. Dodged a bullet there!

Beware, this is a SCAM! They claim to be from First Direct's fraud team, using a fake number to trick you. They say there’s been a dodgy transaction, trying to scare you into giving info. The caller insists the helpline shuts at 5:30pm, but actually, it's open all day, every day. If they tell you to call back and then say you can't, it’s a dead giveaway. Don’t get caught out by this one!

I got a call from what said it was First Direct’s fraud team. To be sure, I rang up the bank myself. They told me that if the message just wanted me to reply with Y or N to confirm the transactions, and they didn’t ask for any passwords or private info, then it was legit. Plus, the charges in the message matched the ones waiting in my banking app, so it wasn’t a scam.

I rang the bank, which turned out to be connected to First Direct. They helped me cancel my card, and they’re sending a replacement now. The payment mentioned in the text did happen, but First Direct managed to block it.

I got a call from someone pretending to be First Direct about something called InstructorHub. Honestly, I was shocked to find out it was a scam - first time it's happened to me. Luckily, First Direct spotted the fraud pretty quickly. At first, I figured the message was dodgy, so I looked up their number on their official site to make sure. My card's been cancelled now and a replacement is on the way. These scammers are getting craftier, really pushing their luck!

Got a text from first direct saying there might have been some dodgy transactions on my card from a company called INSTRUCTORHUB. They said they'd send another message soon with more info from the number 07860 047721. When I got that second text, I rang up first direct who verified it was fraud. They sorted it out by refunding the money, cancelling my card, and sending me a new one. Really glad they have stuff like this in place to catch these scams early.

I got a text from 07860047721 and at first thought it was some sort of scam, but what threw me was that they had the last 4 digits of my debit card right. So I ring up First Direct using the number on the back of my card just to be sure, and it really was them. Apparently, two payments had gone through with Instructor Hub. They told me to cancel my card and now I’m just waiting on a call from their fraud team.

Got a text warning me about fraud, so I rang the bank’s main line. They told me two suspicious payments were stopped and then connected me to their Fraud department to cancel my card. They said a replacement card should arrive within 3 to 4 working days.

This message struck me as rather dodgy and untrustworthy. It claimed to be from Santander Bank about a suspicious transaction supposedly linked to my account. Given that I’m a Natwest customer, I figured it wise to block the number to avoid any potential scams.
