Got a text quite like this one, but it focused more on retirement taxes and property matters - pretty odd timing as I’m actually chatting with financial advisors about that just now! The link didn’t show where it really led, but it’s to a firm named ‘118 Property’. From what I found, it seems to be involved in a tax avoidance plan that HMRC is looking into, so there’s definitely some danger there. The company seems to be real enough, but their morals are definitely up for debate.

Got a message from someone called "David Coughlin" asking if I wanted to sell a property I have tenants in. Problem is, I don’t own any property. Blocked the number straight away.

Got a text off some bloke calling himself TOM, who’s got no business having my number. He’s asking if I want to remortgage my rental place! Honestly, I doubt anyone texting me would have a clue about that sort of thing. Told him straight where he can go.

Got a message earlier asking if I was up for buying, selling or remortgaging a property with tenants. No idea where they found my number from, so I’ve gone and blocked it. Cold calling like that should really be against the law.

Got a message about remortgages and some investors. They somehow already knew my name, which was creepy. Definitely a scam, so don’t bother replying!

Got a text off someone called “Tom” about signing me up as a home buyer. It was all really vague and didn’t say who he was working for or where he’d got my number from. Bit dodgy if you ask me, but he seemed to want me to reply for more details.
